The Democratic Republic of Hungary warns that if Aurel Sykora even take one step inside the borders of this nation he will be arrested and tried for his crimes against the Hungarian People. The Republic announce that the Hungarian People is happy with the downfall of the Cordinaru tyranny, but the people of Hungary are free and not willing to suffer the terrors of a military dictatorship. Hungary can thus not recognize the new regime in Vienna, and will thus not recognize the Danubian Federation as an existing nation.

Why we do what we do:

Iron rulers with iron fists. That's the most appropriate way to describe the new overlords of the Old Federation. They think that any problem can be dealt with via guns and slaughter, and are quite willing to use it against their political enemies and the rebelling Hungarians, who will find themselves crushed. However it is precisely this that makes the strongmen vulnerable to the State of the South Slavs. Men whose first resort is the bullet seldom know how to deal with men whose first resort is anything but. Their iron fists cannot crush will nor words.

Thus we establish our assemblies, provide the services of government, secretly and underground, but with the support of the masses. We do this to whittle away the current states. A gradual transition from the power of the Danubian states of Carniola and Croatia to the New State as the very people on which they are based move out from under them. We should not and we will not!

It is because of this that we resist, not with guns and assassination. But by simply ignoring the old institutions and by building new ones and new ideas. And now I desire to establish a new institution; a new party. The first in I hope a slew of parties to populate the pluralist new state. The South Slavic League shall represent those who desire that the South Slavic people live as they were meant to: free and under our own determination.

We shall be slaves no longer!

Dalmatia perhaps, but the rest of your statement is false. And as Venice currently administers a happy and content Trieste; I hardly see how we are 'bitter' about that although I suppose anything is possible to a rebellious traitor such as yourself.

As the person to originally call for Victor Kraus to be pardoned, I repeat my request. His assumption of Federal offices was in name only, intended to shield others from potential reprisals, and at no point did he attempt to co-opt the organs of government. It can be argued that having an individual present in the Hofburg Palace to take responsibility for the government prevented further chaos. Without his effort, uncertainty as to the governing authority in the Federation would have remained highly uncertain.

I do not believe a ban from political life is strictly necessary; he should be allowed to fulfill his elected term as Councillor of Austria, and I do not support his retirement save on a purely voluntary basis.

I am in favor of pardoning Victor Kraus.

While I find he participated in the corruption of the former regime, including support for the illegitimate officials, actions of resistance, seizure of power, and other activities - I believe he intended to prevent further damages from being done, and thus his motivations are not treasonous, nor his actions severe. His removal from seized positions of power and internment is sufficient punishment for any crimes committed during his actions.

After hearing all these testimonies, I think our course of action is very clear. Victor Kraus seized this power in order to save his colleagues. This to me is akin to a soldier shielding his comrades from an explosive. This courage and selflessness is something our Federation should prize, not punish. Therefore, I am in support of a pardon of Victor Kraus. With two votes for his pardoning, I can officially declare him acquitted of all charges. He will be restored as a full-status Councillor of Austria, free to carry out the rest of his term and run for re-election. I hope you will take this opportunity to further contribute to the Federation, after you have been able to visit with your family following your release. Congratulations, Signore.

While I am not the most senior person in the Chambers I can instantly recognize Herr Kraus' dedication both to the federation and democracy as a whole. He was simply Doug what he saw was the most honorable thing at the time. As such I believe he should be Pardoned of all crimes he is accused of.

I, Vlado Nikolić will be returning home to Novi Sad and I must ask that Croatia raises her state militia to help stabilize the border with traitorous Hungary. This will protect the local Slav population against Hungarian mobs and rebels. This being said I denounce the new state of Hungary, and believe we should focus on re-incorporating her back into our Federation. I am going back home to ensure the safety of my people.

I send send my condolences and weep over the loss of my old colleague Ion Codrinaru. He was a good man and President, I am sad to see him parish in all of this madness.

I am pleased to see, Aurel Sykora released as a free man, and the fair creation of the state of Slovakia. This can only lead to peace and stability for the Federation. Though, I am disgusted by the Hungarian threats for Councillor Sykora not to return to "Hungary" even though Slovakia is no longer Hungary.
