I expect lots of people have already done this as Germany, but I'm putting it out there. A late start to war, but fast progress.
I decided to try and unify Germany and the old Austro-Hungarian Empire as the new German Reich. So first came Anschluss, then Slovenia and Yugoslavia, then Sudetenland and Czechoslovakia. No puppets created.
Justifications for war against Hungary and Poland. Hungary fell in days (March 1940), panzer corps driving on Budapest from the North and South. France and British got drawn in (phoney war mode) and while my armies were re-deploying to the Polish frontier, with the maturing of my justification weeks away, the French and British draw Poland into the war. I begin 'Around Maginot' and overrun Poland.

Armies transfer to the West and have a few days of rest or preparation before invading the Netherlands, then Belgium and Luxemburg. Paris has fallen, France has fallen and preparation begin for a possible invasion of Britain, saved game on 08/05/1940.
