Salvete Senatores!

I come to you from the community of Senator:Rome, a group of people trying to play a game of Imperator:Rome democratically. We call upon you to take on the role of a citizen and of a senator in the Senate.
We are now in the finishing touches of our preparations for the first installation of Senator:Rome, in which we have voted to play as Carthage. We do not strive to play a perfect game, or in any way a good game, we strive to have a fun game, a game where we can do some slight role playing, each citizen with his or her own amount. As a commenter put it, the only way to play is 'to roleplay as a bastard'. In a way, we are doing exactly that, with all the political fighting that will likely ensue, it is impossible to take right or good actions. Will you take on the robes of a democratic senator, or are you a supporter of the king, or try to act as an adjudicator in the squabbles between the two antagonists?
