ok i've made the first basic steps into modding in a santa clause as you can see from the above screenshots. A thousand pardons for useing steam but i forgot my photobucket login. Anyway does anyone know how to do localisation so i can edit the long/short names of the title and such?

I made a special cult religion group for this and named santa's cult as yultide_cult, will likely drop the _cult. I'm also trying to enable as much cool content as i can for this. One important thing i'm trying to get work is Crusades that are aptly named Santa's_Ride, thumbs up if you approve?

To edit localisation, go into the localisation folder and open tex1.csv - it's a massive excel document, so use search to find what you need to change. Looks interesting though (just need to replace the soundrack with appropriate christmas music after download)!

I'm not simply replacing a title i'm creating one so would i still go to text1.csv and what should i look for? the spreadsheet looks daunting as is

POST EDIT: nevermind i figured it out just fine, it's rather straight forward though i keep getting it as Santa of santa or santa of claus

Well kiddies, it looks like we're going to have a Muslim santa this year! i have done some research and ran a few tests with the Santa of Claus and have discovered two major problems. One, being that as a pagan, christian, or other non muslim religion when a title is set to lead religion then it's considered a theocracy (not sure but caliph flag may fix this) secondly the only two religions that can call crusades/jihads are muslim and christians.. hence the problem. Now excuse me kiddies, santa has to bow to the east for his morning prayers.

Something to do with the Twelve Days of Christmas might be suitable for CKII.

The 12 Days go from Christmas to Epiphany, with Christmas being the most important feast to Catholics, and Epiphany the most important feast to the Orthodox. So it runs the whole gamut.

Ahem... I don't want to break all the Christmas spirit, but I'm absolutely sure Easter the highest festival for Catholics, and also for Orthodox churches (being resurrected trumps being born, and Christmas is only more important nowadays because of it's commercialization).

Ahem... I don't want to break all the Christmas spirit, but I'm absolutely sure Easter the highest festival for Catholics, and also for Orthodox churches (being resurrected trumps being born, and Christmas is only more important nowadays because of it's commercialization).

yes but it's not the easter season. Not to mention it makes more sense to have birth challenge before a rebirth challenge ^_^ sides it's all for fun in the spirit of the season. also the quoted post was talking about in terms of the season as well.

Sure, why not? He could fight it out with Prince-Archbishop Nicholas of Myra, the Jultolmen of Scandinavia, the Three Magi of Aragon, Castile and Leon, Father Christmas of Brittania, Saturnus of Rome and the Christkindl of Germany. Oh, and Jesus could have a church in Galilee somewhere, in case anybody feels like paying any attention to him.

that's a funny idea that would take alot of work. don't think i would be able to have the time to get that done b4 Christmas though. Should all the "santa" figures be immortal as well?

It’s really up to you; I’m not proposing to do it. Mostly, it’d just be the ruler designer and adding some titular empires, unless you wanted to actually mod in Santa clothes. Use CK2+ to do it and you could even have Judah Maccabee.
