Hello all, been lurking since EU came out, think I might have had a login but couldn't remember it, so I get another chance to make a first post :)

First of all, a couple of questions. I have read all of the FAQs and looked through the forums, and while that took care of the first 100 or so, I still have a few problems

1) Is it possible to Strategic bomb a province behind Fog Of War? My planes simply fly there and back with no action. If I pause the game when they are 1 province away I can then set the SB option.

2) Bombing (tac and strat) never seems to work if there is any type of aircraft, even a transport with org of 0) in the target province. Am I doing something wrong with my orders?

3) Fighters In experimentation to drive off planes in target provinces, I've tried to send in fighters on intercept and patrol. The defaul option for ME109s though is Tac Bom, with the other options greyed out. They are still selectable, but I'm not sure what action the planes are ordered to carry out.

3) Spain 1936 i I have leant some units to Nationlist Spain, and convoyed supply there. However, Panzers are always out of fuel, and the supply map displays red.

4) Spain 1936 ii I am able to enter Republican provinces, but they do not change ownership to Nationalist. Also, after a couple of weeks my divisions appear to wander around without taking any part in the war.

5) Surrender; Netherlands, UK and France have no European provinces, but refuse even a sue for peace offer. While I understand their stubbon refusal to look facts in the face and surrender, this does mean that France/UK/Netherland territories are a little strange. My fleets always get the order box when I try to move to a port, and I am unable to deploy new divisions in the French provinces. (Game behaves differently when Vichy France is activated, conquered France behaves like German provinces.

BTW, thanks to all the folks who put the FAQ's together.

Now some comments,

I've had the game about a week, though the weekend was the first time I had a chance to play, and had all the info from the forum.

The game has serious flaws, you can read about them in one of 100 different threads, but for all those flaws it's still undeniably great fun. I almost gave up on it early when I couldn't seem to get anything working, but after a couple of run throughs and re-reads I was able to understand production, convoys, research etc and understand what was going right and wrong.

Far from perfect, but that doesn't seem to prevent me from serious sleep deprivation over the last few days. I'm thinking of bringing the CD to work and leaving it here so that I can get a nights sleep :)

I'm biased through loving EU and EU2 , which I'm still playing, and I hope that Paradox fights through the problems of the game to the end.

1) Hold control down when ordering teh attack, u should get teh CCB and from there u can select strat bomb.

2) Nope, works a bit weird.

3a) Grey ones work just as well when selected.

3b) Set up a convoy to Spain to supply them. IF the provs are red the convoy isn't working. U need to send oil too with teh supplies.

4) Perhaps ask in teh bug forum.

5) It's not like they surrendered historically ...

1. Ctrl-click on FoW provinces to strat bomb works for me.
2. Works the same for me, pretty annoying. Looks like a design flaw in my opinion.
3b. I've had the same problems with supplying troops in any allied provence, or like in the expeditionary force. Sometimes I'll have supplies, sometimes I won't. Often if I wait a bit, my units will get supplies and oil. Haven't been able to figure out the why though. Sometimes I'll send supplies and oil, but I haven't found a definate effect or timing.
3b and 4. I have the same problem. The whole expenditionary force system doesn't seem to work right.
5. The Surrender/Annex rules are, from what I've been able to determine, that you need to have all of a countries valuable provinces. Haven't found the precise rules, but provinces worth VP's and that have resources or IC's are generally valuable. So, since those European countries have 'valuable' colonies, you can't annex them. The territories are still 'foreign' land until you annex them, so you can't place new troops there.

3b) You must have mil access in order to have supply in friendly provinces (Or alliance).

4) The whole Exp.Force system is buggy. When I allied with NSpain as Germany I managed to recapture NSpain provinces that had been lost to RSpain, but not any of the provinces that RSpain started with.

It is also quite useless to send Exp.Forces if you are UK or France, as you will only have 1/4 of max org (since you are a dem. and not in war). My 10 org inf div was not very successful.

Thanks for the answers.

Just one clarification, I don't expect UK etc to surrender, just whether the interface would eventually behave the same- without the ccb for moving around.

Anyway, it didn't, finally managed to make France a puppet, though Netherlands and Britain were still alive when I called it a day.

The Spain problem cropped up after France became an ally. My units in Syria were suddenly out of supply, even though I was convoying supplies.

Does it depend on your ally to supply and fuel your troops when they are in that territory?

Would that also apply to my allies, do I have to feed them if they launch attacks from my supply lines?

If you set fighters to tac bomb they don't really bomb, they attack incoming planes. Setting them to tac bomb one of your provinces (not the one they're based in) and checking the loop box makes them patrol :)

Bug. They can free nat spain provs taken over by the republicans and fight their troops though.

I am unable to deploy new divisions in the French provinces. (Game behaves differently when Vichy France is activated, conquered France behaves like German provinces.

When Vichy is made Germany annexs their French lands so you can then deploy troops their.
