Hey all, I have a couple of questions for you space veterans out there.

Firstly, what determines or causes border growth? Every once in a while mine or my neighbors borders will grow. What is the cause of this or what allows it to happen (other than the normal research +10% cause)

Secondly, is there a way to tell what active trades I have going on?

Border growth is determined by the population of the enclosed space (not the empire as a whole, eg. if your empire was split into two blobs each would count its population seperately for borders, but if you linked them up they would all count as one and push out further), as well as by the techs.

You can review your trade agreements in the Contacts screen (hotkey F2). Select your own empire and a summary appears to the left. In the Diplomatic Status section there will be a double arrow icon (with the arrows pointing in opposite directions) and to the right of that the empire icons of those you have trade deals with. If you mouse-over an empire icon it will give you the trade details and expiry date.
