A copy of CK2 with EU4 pre-order?

I only wish there were some kind of hybrid game between the two.
With the personal RPG touch and humour of CKII and EU's fast pace and not so much trouble managing a great realm.

There is a game like that: EU3:Rome. You have characters, just like the ones from CK2 - and they have children you can marry to someone, you assign governors to provinces, there are elections for Senate - but you manage the country just as you do in EU3.
The research system in Rome is very interesting, similar to the one from Victoria - when you research something, you unlock the possibility of inventing something, but you don't know when you'll get it

So, Paradox, when will we have Rome 2?

It's not a loss for the company. Anyone who hasn't picked up CK2 at this point is extremely unlikely to get it. Giving it away like this is a great way to get more people to try it, get them hooked and then sell them more dlc later.

So are people saying that they think preorders will get a CK2 converter and a copy of CK2 or just one or the other?

I just dont see it being either to be honest. They have repeatedly said that a converter is hard to make. Why give away something for free that was so tricky to make? As for giving CK2 away for free......well I just dont see it.

EDIT: And now that I think about it, on personal level, I will be a bit dissapointed if CK2 is given away free. I dont want it as already have it, and have bought copies for my friends, so will be worthless to me.

Im sure alot of people would be ecstatic though!

Yes I understand that. But why give away a converter for free that so many people actually want. I mean people would pay for it. And if it was so tricky to make, surely you want to make direct return on it? Just fill the bonus with something cosmetic.

i still dont think its very good making content before a games release, and not including it for everyone. whether it be dlcs or not. i mean look at the creative assembly (R2TW) atm, there saying that the greek states pack is somehow not posisible to include in development of the base game and is justifiable as a dlc (which people will have to pay for after release if they dont preoder) and hilariously some people actully believe those devs... its pure greed.

In this case you can say its slightly different but will i have to pay extra for the 'pre release stuff' if i dont preorder?

If the preorder DLCs will be made available after release (which would seem more than likely) then yes, they will have a cost, probably ranging from 2 to 5 Euro/Dollars or even less (don't know how big these dlcs are).

They are not giving it away for free, they are giving it away as a preorder bonus, that's a HUGE difference. Everyone else would still have to pay for the converter. Add to that that the modding community has already made free converters for EU3 and I don't think it's that far-fetched.

I know that. That doesn't change anything about the point I was making. Having a CK2 converter as one of the preorder bonus DLCs would make a lot of sense.

CK2 is a game well selled. And a converter is a very hard thing to do.
If they were really these bonuses, I would not know what to believe.

mmmm, you make some valid points. Well, like I said, I wouldnt mind if they did give it away as preorder bonus.
