Another issue with the Counters, Divisions are colour coded so what happens if you have two Infantry Divisions in the same province from two different armies?

This is part of the rules for how counters are grouped; (CURRENTLY!) if there are divisions in the same location that are not in the same group thier conters will not merge into one with an incremented, but rather "merge" into a counter list where each counter is for specific division types inside the same group (if they are in one).

As for requests about different kinds of statuses for the divisions being represented on the counters; the goal of the design is to contain as much relevant information as possible in as compact a way as possible as intuitively as possible. So if the status in question is important enough, we will try to fit it in there (have a look at the two bars for instance, which i believe may have been covered in a DD, though i can't recall which one right now. Might have been somewhere in the thread of nr 13.)
I don't want to go into too much detail, since parts of them may still change should we find that they are missing important information or displaying redundant information. To hopefully calm some worries, though, I can say that several of the requests and suggestions made in this thread have been addressed in one way or another ;)

Also; thanks everyone for keeping the thread civil and constructive.

Forgive me if I sound ignorant, since I haven't followed this discussion, but if there is already provided an option for NATO counters (which I think is great, because while it's ahistorical they are recognizable and function should always win over form in matters of playability; wheel is already invented in terms of strategy games) why is there still discussion on the topic?

Edit: To clarify, I'm simply curious. If someone wants to PM the answer, that's great, since I don't want to be the inadvertent cause of a side track to the discussion. ;)

"NATO or icons?!
From a pure game design standpoint nato counters are insane. There is almost nothing about the symbols that indicates what they symbolize, so thats why they arent the standard symbol for stuff. However, in wargames they are pretty common so a lot of people have experience with them and so including them is a no brainer because plenty of players wont have to relearn a new icon set and feel at home. So we are giving players the choice between both NATO and regular symbols." - Podcat

Right now the counters are the same size regardless of zoom level, so they are equally readable no matter how close or far away you are. Icons are merged when zooming out and split up when zooming in, making the level of info reflecting the level of zoom. It is a nice way to get an overview of a front, which you can then zoom in to in order to get good division-level info. The sprites, of course, do not ;)

Again; the details of this may still change, but the aim is always to present the player with as useful and intuitive information as possible.

I am not necessarily talking about zooming out just that you have two divisions of the same type from two different armies in one province how does the counter show them as being from two different armies?

it tags each one with a different color marker and doesnt group them
