A completely open category?

Hi everyone!

I was browsing my collection of games a lot recently (when I should be studying for my exams...) and a thought just occured to me. Is it just me or are AARs pretty much exclusive to the Paradox forum? I mean there's a lot of (writing) talent here and there are plenty of sandbox games people could write about. So, how about making a dedicated part of AARland for any AAR you can think of based on any game?

Sure, it would be kinda strange for PI to host stuff about games they have nothing to do with, but there's already an off-topic forum, and after a quick glance, I noticed that there is at least one non-PI AAR there


So, would that be too far fetched? Would there even be any interest in such an idea?

Such places exist, but they're generally inside the game forum itself (the non-AAR forum for non-Paradox games), such as this: Galactic Civ II AARs

But it seems like the forum format would allow a "non-Paradox AAR" category, which would contain individual links from the AAR Gendisc forum into these far-scattered AAR fora.

I know that Civilization Fanatics has an "All Other Games" section . . . I don't see why the coding can't be edited to include such a category here too. I'm behind it 100%!

Galactic Civilizations is kinda-sorta a PI game since it is published by PI, and thus it has its own part of the forum. What I meant was any, as in any game. (Although I would make one simple rule: it has to be a sandbox game. There's no point writing an 'AAR' of the story of an adventure game for example, that would be a walkthrough... But very good examples would be city-building games, the first Gangsters game, heck, maybe even the Total War series )

According to the rules any AAR not about a P'Dox produced or published game should be posted in the OT. Thread locked.
