I am asking the designers of the game to offer a complete and easy (if possible) editor with the game.

As can be seen in the threads, there is (always) much discussion about army's strengths' and numbers of enlisted soldiers, morale levels, effect of all the modifiers..etc..etc..

And in Axis&Allies you had a simple editor in which you could modify all (important) values to your own taste.

Couldn't something like that be made for HOI as well ?

The modifying techniques shown for EU2 are really a bit too much into 'old-fashioned' typing detail (sensitive to typo position, etc..).. and is in fact booooooring..
I am hoping that there will be plans to improve this for HOI ?

Anyone ?

Don't you think based on what has been discussed that HOI is a lot more complex than Axis & Allies.

of course..

of course it is far more complex..

But my guess is that the makers of the game are more capable to fabricate a 'userfriendly' editor, than some gamer 'hobyists' (with all respect).

At least it is good to know in this early stage if the designers plan anything in this matter, or that they say 'sorry, too difficult, or too much extra storage required..'.

that's all..

Cheers

What does it matter?

If the game is anything like Europa Universalis in terms of scenario design then it will be simple enough to make and modify scenarios with notepad.

I imagine it will take Paradox 18 months to get the thing patched so as to be usefull at all anyway. I also hope they do away with that shitty buggy "bink" movie player.

Well HoI will have an online gamming facility, it says on the website. If Paradox do not make it at least semi-stable then they are shotting themselves in the foot. After all online multiplayer gamming is the way to go these days.

Well, I'm sure I can make a scenario in EU2 with notepad (Every inforations needed are on the net). But this far more speedly and comfortable to do it with the Editor.

It's just like HTML, I can do a site into notepad but it more confortable to simply write your text down in a editor (NOT FrontPage), then I often check the sources to delete everything unuseful that the editor is writing (e.g. "Made by XYZ Editor...[20 lines like that]..." or so).

P.S.: The Editor also prevents from writing errors.

I am not sure about editors.

I and some others have written the whole 1914-1991 scenario in notepad and it wasn't to bad, I prefer it infact.

Afater a bit of a learning curve, I actually have much more success in just hand-editing EU2 files than in using the editor.

But as Patric mentioned, there will be a scenario editor with HOI, for those that disagree with me.

Will you be able to change alliances, governments and the such in the HOI SCENARIO EDITOR? For example.. Could you make USA into an Axis country? Or make them Communist, and increase the relations with USSR. Stalin could invade the east of Europe, Roosevelt the west. That would actually add an interesting twist.. Hmm.. ;)

Anyways, my point is will you be able to change governments and everything like that? Thanks in advance! :)
