So I am quite concerned that this game will turn into operation unthinkable in 1942. Hear me out.
So Axis nations in Europe are Germany(roughly equal to UK), Italy(roughly equal to France), Poland, Belgium and Finland, and Axis plans on attacking the allies first. Since allies have a whole human player commonwealth, there will be plenty of extra divisions for the defense of France, and a quick victory for the Axis would not be possible. If France manages to survive to 1941 and uncle Sam arrives, its basically game over for the Axis. If however Axis manages to occupy France then yay, Commonwealth is now your enemy(still industrially more powerful than you) and comintern nations had more time to prepare.
Comintern is still industrially and possibly militarily more powerful than Axis, because it includes nations like Romania, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Greece and Denmark which were historically either Axis, or members of the Allies, but with very bad positioning for the Allies to help them so they fell quickly. But in this game, they are all united under communism, and industrially are definitely more powerful than axis, and quite possibly their troops outnumber yours, over the whole length of ugly looking front. I think you cannot win that war.

However, IF Poland remains Axis from the start, war with Allies is quite avoidable, and shall I say, stupid. The only way I see you achieving any kind of quick victory is if Japan lands 30 or more divisions to be used against France. But you could go for an early war against the Comintern, and take most of East Europe for yourself, making you industrially more powerful than the rest of the Comintern this early, and giving you a real chance for victory. With Comintern industry base, only then can Axis dreams of taking on Allies be justified in industrial capacity.

Now, I'm not trying to do this only because I'm the leader of France, just to keep it a fun game for Axis nations too.

(I understand where you're coming from, despite trying to have a little historical guideline, the ability to swap ideologies is proving far too appealing for everyone and while that's totally cool, there are some kinks we'll no doubt iron over as the weeks roll by. The imbalance here is caused by the large player count. If it were only majors, the Axis players could make the fullest of their ability to declare limited wars against non-aligned countries, but since nearly all of Europe is more or less part of a team, this is not going to be possible. In saying that this'll mean Axis players have to think outside the box, which could be fun in its own right but since the Allies and Comintern have basically made us the mutual enemy we're likely the first ones ousted and then the game finishes after a Allies vs Comintern war.

The problem also stems from the fact Axis have no Superpower to carry them. Yes, we all know how powerful Germany tends to be portrayed, but look at what they have to contend against. USA and UK, both resource self sufficient, and both safe from invasion due to possessing powerful starting fleets and can outproduce Germany no matter what. They literally only have to wait and they will win, they have more staying power. And then we have the Soviet Union, also resource self sufficient, and will by far outproduce Germany in all areas in time, but slightly more vulnerable because they are only separated by Poland. You're correct that in order to stand a chance Axis needs to secure a quick victory over the Comintern, something I'm not sure I can pull of as part of my first game, but nevertheless something I have to believe I'm capable of because I want to win ;)

I by no means suggest anything like we cut down the players, 32 people sounds like a hell of a party and I think it goes without saying not everyone will be able to play every single time. But you really wonder if Axis have any chance when they face a two-faction front. Still, we won't really know till we play, so until then I'm interested to see where all of this leads and what we end up with by the end. I thank you for raising this topic, its been on my mind to for a while now.)

What is this capitalist nonsense? Bulgaria and Yugoslavia have joined the Bolsheviks? are you now shoving the neutrals you don't want into a faction?! See here's your proof neutrals! the Allies just say you support the Bolsheviks before you even have proclaimed support to them! It's obvious how corrupt the capitalist swines are...

(for real both Yugoslavia and Bulgaria are neutral, heck Bulgaria doesn't has a player! and Hungray is a player and is with the axis as well.)

Yeah. I agree with with Germany and France. Maybe for the first game nations should pick more historic allies. This would make the game more fun as then there wouldnt be clear if the axis would lose. I mean Romania not joining the Axis is realy bad for Germany as they realy need their oil.

Ah my mistake then... But still I don't think that makes a huge difference.

Though if Axis is okay with having a blast in the beginning and then losing, Allies vs Comintern that would ensue later would be quite fun :)

Ahh, ignorant Axis minors, any realistic plan would surely involve getting occupied and hoping to build a moon base before the inevitable defeat.

We'll see whose the ignorant minor when Belgian boots are on British soil....

This may be true, it might not be. Still I would like to do the best I can and if i get my ass kicked, I'll see if i can keep going as a different nation or i'll have to start an MP with all the other 'losers'.

But I do not intend to lose before 1950. (Bravado intensifies)
