1) Does building railroads only effect factory production if you build it in the state capital where the factory icon is located, or does building railroads in every province in the state help with factory production?

2) I haven't see it yet, but I supposedly you can get new POPs via immigration. If so, does job availability act as a pull? Specifically, if I turn all my labors into something else, will new labors show up (presuming other factors like low tax and political freedom meet their desires)?

3) Any way to speed up assimilation in game? Techs, promoting people to clergymen, etc?

4) Any use at all for clerks/craftsmen in colonies?

5) Is there any cost to upgrading an RGO? Mouse hovering does not list one.

4) Not much-you can grant statehood to most colonies though, and then build factories. But it costs a lot if you have social reforms in place!

5) Not much. I believe you have to pay 100-200 money for it-might be wrong though :)

1. Efficiency is calculated on state average.

2. Migration is a pretty complicated thing but in essence the following issues affect it.

Available jobs
Life rating of the province
Dominant and secondary issues of ruling party
Social and Political reforms...

The more the merrier so to speak :) But only Johan and Henrik could give you an exhaustive answer I'm afraid.

Check the file called factory_construction.txt in the db\economy folder. The upgrade cost is £100 for all the RGO buildings except the oil rig, which costs £500.

Btw, it is now Friday evening and 22:40, I got to get up early tomorrow but my neighbors are having a rather loud party (no use in trying to go to bed early). Damn, that means I gotta play Victoria for a few more hours. :D
