I usually like giving my dynasty members positions of power, but is that truly wise? I know for Muslim's it is a bad idea, too many negative modifiers for siblings, unless one has the content trait. I had a game before the factions system, where one Duke of my dynasty rebelled for independence and called in all his cousins of my dynasty against my Kingdom. Can that still happen with the factions system? Or would they all need to be in the independence faction or whichever faction for that event to occur?

Vassals can't be called to war, except by other vassals of the same liege. When someone rebels, they become independent temporarily, and hence cannot call your still-loyal vassals to arms. So having people inside your realm be of your dynasty is great, so long as they stay in your realm. One issue is that they are more likely to have claims on your titles, I suppose, being related to you.

However, if a foreigner is of your dynasty, well, that can be a problem. A simple war on a duke can turn nasty if he calls in the king next door; dynasty members always have an alliance with each other. You had better make sure foreign lieges of your dynasty like you.
