Here's the deal...

I am having troubles with the beaurocracy in getting my hyper-fast internet connection up (writing from library). Until its up, I have no IGC (I do have the saved game on two different disks ), hence nothing new in the AAR.

I'm keeping the capitol in Leinster, because I have a pre-planned development scheme for Ireland: Naval Goods Factories in Connaught & Munster (Fish), Goods factory in Ulster (Cloth), Refinery in Meath (Grain) and Fine Arts in Leinster (Capitol). This gives me maximum bang/buck,as everything but the Refinery gets a bonus. Plus, I think Tara, ancient seat of Irelands kings, is in what is part of Leinster on the EU map.

The University is being downright onery about giving me my internet access. In the meantime, I'm going to take a page out of Ariel's Book and work on a more 'narrative' style. There may be a brief story-ish passage about the conversion of the Iroqouis, the death of St. Richard (who must be very old by now), and the waning days of King Patrick's rule, as well as Princess Margaret. I've also decided to add this fictional line of monarchs into the game (if possible), as well as some Irish historic ministers and Generals who served in other countries, but would have stayed in Ireland in my alternate history.

Horrific News

For some reason, I can't load the saved game even after copying the .eug file into the savegame directory

This AAR may be lost folks... If so I may re-start it, (though I'm considering a French AAR, I haven't ever seen one of those)

How about an unscientific pol?
Would you like to see

1. Another shot at Ireland (I would add in some Historic Leaders, irish expatriates etc, as well as the 'Historic' monarchs from this AAR)

2. France (I've toyed around with it in the GC and found a successful strategy that turns france into an economic powerhouse. A very drunk economic powerhouse)

3. Hungary (I've toyed with this one, its tough, technologically backward, borders a huge agressive neighbor. On the Plus side, it's leaders suck

4. An Electorate of the HRE (Probably Brandenburg or Hessen)

5. Something really weird (Uzbekistan, Nubia, Pskov, the list goes on)

I would like to see a Georgian AAR. Being Orthodox and having a port, they get 1 settler a year right from the start. Therefore they can potentially colonise Siberia (though of course you need a conquistador to do it). If you add the Astrakhan COT as an option, that would it a great base for a Siberian trade empire. Also note that they are right next to the Armenian gold province owned by Persia which could be taken early on to boost funds. And the settler a year would make it easier to convert Islam/pagan provinces to Orthodox.

Of course Geogia has a number of large powers nearby (Persia, Turkey, Poland & eventually Russia) which would make it quite challenging, as well as exciting.

Not terribly historical, but it would definitely be interesting.

There was a georgian AAR here some time ago, but it was taken down. A pity, it was magically delicous.

I don't know how keen I am on another pre-doomed tiny minor surrounded by enemies, but Georgia is something to consider.

got impatient and started a French one already hope it will be even better than my Irish one was, as I learned a lot.
