<ruler>:"My loyal vassals and subjects, I must inform you of tragic and frightening developments. One of the enemies of our realm, too cowardly to contend with honor against us on the field of battle, has begun a dastardly campaign of assassination against us! We must stand together against such underhanded villany! I swear on the fresh grave of my sainted grandmother that this realm shall not rest until her killer has been drawn and quartered and those responsible for hiring him have paid dearly for their treachery!"
<court applauds, vassals pledge their aid, express sympathy, etc.>
<ruler>"I go now to secret counsel with my spymaster, to plot our revenge upon these villans."
<spymaster to ruler, in private> "Well, that went better than I expected. Most of the nobles believed you about the external threat."
<ruler>: "Indeed, it may not be necessary to knock off Aunt Trina after all. Put that plan on hold if it's not too late. If it is I'll understand, she's outlived her usefulness anyway."
That's the dynamic that is modeled by reducing badboy for killing your own court. If, however, you get caught doing it, you get more BB and a chance at Kinslayer, which will ruin your whole decade. Seems WAD to me.
