As far as I've seen there are no extras if you pre-order the DLC... So why should we? Why does it even exist? Or is there some advantage over just getting it on day one that I am not seeing?

If it's anything like most of the DLCs for the other games, there is no incentive.

there already was for the main game when it was first released (though the pre-order bonuses have now already been incorporated into the main game for everyone) so it's not like it's something they've not already done before.
Mostly I agree, but if they offered it at a discount, I'd be tempted.
Perhaps some ppl pre-order because, at least in my country, depending on the payment method it can take 2 days to confirm the payment happened. In this case you can pre-order and still play in the release day.
If I read this correctly, even if you bought the game on release day. You will not be able to consume it instantly?
Two reasons.
One, my mastercard is charged on the 15th. That means if I pay sooner, the sooner it will charged. I prefer it that way because I hate being surprised 2 months later (If I pay something on May 16h, it will be charged on July 15th, but if I pay on May 15th it's charged on June 15th.)
Second, I prefer buying on PDX store, for various reasons I don't care explaining here. However, they often get overwhelmed on release day, and it may take several hours for the key to be distributed if you buy it at that point. Thus far, when I pre-ordered, key was distributed a few hours before actual release.

If you choose that method of payment yes, you won't be able to consume. It needs confirmation. And I'm not talking about credit card.

even if it takes 2 extra days to get the transaction/payment to go thru.... don't be so impatient. go do something outside for 2 days. sheesh.

Well I don't wanna encourage them to add extras to pre-orders.. I just found it confusing why would they do pre-orders at all, makes absolute no sense to pay for something you don't even know how good will it be. Was also a bit surprised because many ppl got burned with pre-orders in the past.
