Still no word on supply routing problems? I'm just trying to understand if I have to wait until the patch comes out to continue my campaign, or if it's not going to be solved anyway, I can continue as it is.

There was no supply routing problems, an urban myth!

There is now a minimum supply demand for small units so that long distances wont take all the supply tax.

I don't understand what this means. Could someone please explain it?

This is for this Bug:

http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=425866

Probably means that at least XX amount of supplies will make it through before tax is applied (i.e. after 70 provinces from moscow to valivostok, the supply tax will cease to have an effect because the remaining supplies on the route have dropped below XX)

No, it means that there is now a minimum supply demand for all units when they are low on supplies, however small the unit's consumption is. Just as Johan said. ;)

At the very least I want the game at a playable level on my computer. If they really have found some of the worst culprits then I will be marginally happy with whatever else they do to upgrade it.

My expectations are that the patch will make HoI 3 playable by sorting out the speed issues, save game corruptions, CTDs, load times & lags. Beyond that I am expecting that the major problems with AI, units recovering morale/org to such an extent that blitzkrieg type offensives become practical, diplomacy, supply and slider weirdness will go away for the most part.

I do not expect any significant to: the map , game balance, problems related to the various Chinese nations, naval issues in general, the impossibility of a Perl Harbor style attack succeeding to the extent that it did, lack of generals, strategic air attacks being devastating and nearly impossible to defend against or much in terms of fine tuning or aesthetics.

On the whole I do that expectations for this patch seem to be sky high and I doubt that they can be meet. However, it does seem likely that the patch will be a major step forward.

If the thing I expect to be fixed are made right for the most part i'd say that the potential of HoI 3 will start to become realized. All the other stuff isn't game breaking and one can reasonably expect them to be dealt with once the major issues are basically settled.

Anyone that is expecting a polished, finished product after the release of 1.2 is simply being unreasonable.

It is pretty sad that all these people are waiting for a patch for a product that should have worked when they bought it. Spending $40 on a game that doesn't work....that is bad.
I will not be politically correct about this, this is wrong Paradox.

I will not say please and thank you for fixing a problem that should not have been there in the first place. I will not be happy with glee, that finally you have fixed your mistake. I am DEMANDING you fix the problem! Or refund my money back!

If this BS patch doesn't work, I will boycott you and all of your games. I will go into my backyard and burn all my games that I have bought from you in past years. It is a shame that this kind of behaviour from you Paradox is the standard and not a freak anomaly!

I haven't seen anyone say they think this will solve all the problems in the game.

I think there is reason to be optimistic for this patch.

Hi guys.

We're working on a 1.2 patch including fixing reported bugfixes and improving gameplay.

The goal is to have it released in late august, but may be first week of september.

Our goals includes.

- New autocontrols for sliders and trade agreements.
- Severe performance improvement.
- New mapmode for simplified terrain. (hoi2 style)
- Day&Night indications
- Cancellation of orders
- Revised Technology Setup for all scenarios.
- Improved Invasion & Theatre AI.

& of course, fixing reported bugs.

That would mean that all reported bugs will be fixed. Of course, obscure bugs that were not reported will not be fixed, nor any new bugs that will appear with the addition of the 1.2 patch.

But I take that to mean that ALL bugs that have been posted about on this forum since release will be fixed.

Which means that anti-air will function correctly, full submarines fleet will no longer destroy a capital ship fleet, naval bombers will be strong again, interceptors should deal massive damage to bombers strength, bombers will greatly reduce the strength of ground units, countries will no longer put their best units on a border with an ally, naval landings and the rush to the enemy capital from the beach will no longer be so easy, countries from the same faction will no longer declare war on each other, puppets will not obstruct the supply lines of their overlord, a unit deep in enemy territory will no longer be out of supply when peace has been accepted, instead they will draw on their 30 day supplies as intended, etc

I agree there is plenty of reason to be optimistic about this patch. I just hope no one is expecting this to be the patch that makes the game perfect, but as I said in the post you quoted I haven't seen anyone like that. But overall this is going to bring the game about 10 steps forward on it's quest for perfection.

My personal concern is what the patch breaks, and with a patch as big as this there is almost a certainty that something will be broken. Hopefully it's a couple of minor things or if worse case scenario something big breaks we'll have a hotfix in a few days like we had with the CG bug.

Since you say so it must be true. Well, I'll just have to try and get on with life.

Maybe they should have hotfixed the critical bugs right away and optimized for the patch they are releasing a month into the game?

Anxious

I think that Paradox is getting better at delivering finished products than in the past. Some games ago you had to buy an expansion to get the game enjoyable. Now we are hoping for a reasonable solution only a month or so after the release, and with no extra cost (further development was included in the 40$ high price, I think).

Anybody knows if the patch will turn previous savegames unusable?

Thanx for the info

Ps.: Not worshiping, just recognizing evolution.

Unlike many of the people on this board, I don't worship the feet of those who deliver sub-par non-working products. Do it right the first time.

What is broken that could just simply be hotfixed, other then the memory leaking and the performance problems some people are experiencing nothing is really broken, 98% of the problems with this game are the features just simply not working as they were originally intended to or the community was expecting something of different results. Just because something isn't work efficiently doesn't mean it's completely broken. If it was as simple as a hotfix don't you think they would have lumped those fixes in with the first hotfix that was released after 1.1?

Anybody knows if the patch will turn previous savegames unusable?

I'd assume it would be, but in all honesty it's best if you just start a new game as some of the fixes in the patch may not kick in with a game already underway.

Erm, no, that wouldn't mean "all" reported bugs. It may imply all, but it does not say it. It says "reported bugs". That just means all the other things they fixed are things that have been reported. Also, some of the things you listed aren't even bugs, but simply strange design decisions. Annoying and weird in some cases, but not bugs. The strength of naval bombers and the amount of damage air units do are not bugs. They're designed to work that way, which is the problem.

As for the person commenting about sheep, well, no, some of us just have better things to get worked up about than a video game.

Not working efficiently...really...seriously. Had the game for 3 weeks and I have yet to get past the loading phase before it gives a critical error and crashes my computer (I have a fairly new computer I bought just to play games). I not be complaining one bit if there were minor problems with the game. And when you say 98% of the problems are not working properly...really...seriously.

What you're experiencing is something only effecting a relatively small number of players, and there are threads about it on the Tech Support forums already. Many people play without experiencing any such problems, so it can hardly be classified as broken based on your experience.
