I won't say much, because I want to get back to playing this amazing expansion. :D

So far I've had no problems, but I don't understand the 'increase the army/navy' missions.

It tells me to increase the army to at least 99%, same with the navy mission. But to 99% of what? I don't understand. :confused:

How long does it take to achieve the mission after you've reached 99%?

I'd figured that was what it meant, but when I reached 99% I waited for two months and nothing happened.

Well, the force limit is the thing in the maintenance section, right? Just above the maintenance bar? (I never really paid attention to the whole forcelimits thing :eek:o )

Well, I reached 28 out of 25 and nothing happened.

Odd, it's always fired for me pretty much as soon as I hit the limit. Were you using lots of mercs? Not sure if they count.

I've just got back to playing, and had a go at the naval mission due to cancelling the land forces one.

The 'success' message and bonuses were triggered at the end of the year, after building over my force limit. (29 ships)

Fortunately, the large influx of new ships ( I went from 11 to 30) didn't hurt my economy much in terms of maintenance.

The army is going to be an entirely different matter, though. Portugal doesn't even have much manpower...

Hell, come to think of it, I haven't even reached the new world yet! Back to playing. :p

No, I disbanded all my mercenaries after wars with morocco for Tangiers and the surrounding provinces. As I said above, though, it seems to only trigger (for me, at least) at the end of the year.

You need to hover mouse over the max. force limit. If it says, for example, that your maximum is 13.517 regiments, then 13 regiments isn't enough to complete the mission but you need 14.

No. In fact, the missions even guide the AI and it builds it's strategies on them. So if it has a mission to conquer a province from you, you can expect them to try it some day.

The AI tries to accomplish his missions.

If you check another country you can also see which mission it has

In EU3/IN, it is a very good idea to be at the support limits. You'll need the ships to protect colonial tariffs. You'll need the regiments to convince the AI not to invade you.

Believe me, you need more ships than you can support.

I've literally had to put navies on every coastline I have, and now I'm expanding into the new world (faster than normal, thanks to missions) you can imagine I'm becoming stretched. Each time I send out a navy to explore, they're automatically reassigned to protect the new colonies.

I had to turn the pop up off I was being attacked by pirates so much. Thankfully it's not an issue now, due to my fleets, but still...

Kazmir: I looked earlier and I had 29 units out of the 23 I could support. So, I was well over at the time. I just needed to wait longer.

Edit: Oh, and as for the colonies, for the first time in EUIII I'm taking it slow in setting them up. The new growth mechanism is fantastic, and I'm falling in love with it already. You get a lot less colonists every year though, I only get 1 a year and I'm Portugal! Plus, the maintenance costs can really add up with several colonies, it's wiser to take it slow in terms of numbers from my point of view.
