8800 GT minimum or not ??? Conflicting information :(

Official game website FAQ says minimum card is 8800 GT
Steam say GTX 260

Which is correct?

As a 8800 GT owner I am officially confused
I've spent several hours trying to get a rough answer to whether it would be playable

Could I get some feedback ?

Obviously I would expect to run at a lower resolution/quality but framerate??

TIA System is:

MAC PRO 2008
2 x XEON QUAD E5462
4 GB RAM
8000 GT

I don't really want to gamble and end up with a game that is unplayable.

A demo would have been helpful guys - or at least some clarity in the guidelines.

On Windows that shouldn't work too well because the game uses DirectX 11 on default and 8800GT is not officially capable of that.

So it might work on your Mac (min. OS X 10.9 64-bit)but probably not very smoothly. Depends mostly on the resolution.

Demo was out of their reach. Way too small developer to do something as time consuming as that. Demos are a rarity these days.

Yeah I worked for a games company once (football sim) so I know how it goes..

Some little fps test app would have been handy though - many seems confused about requirement - but small team isn't it.

Might ask that guy - I looked hard surprised I didn't find him, I commend you on your googling skills!

Otherwise will wait until someone uploads a similar config to Youtube or something..

Just VERY excited by the game and trying to resist urge to splurge.. :laugh:

If it exploited the 8 cores I would have hoped I'd get something playable..

Then again I've heard Linux and Mac versions are a bit laggy atm

It actually utilizes all 8 cores (though it's optimized for 4). I'm also running a Xeon.

Linux and Mac versions should improve once the first patches are released.

For me, Mac version is smooth, only some audio glitches.

Linux version is unplayable (same machine) because of lag.
