Those levels are consistant with what I was getting in my last 2 IGCs. I havent actually played a 'stock' 1.08 GC yet as I prefered many of the changes from the IGC. But if the issue is not present in the stock GC, I wonder what it could be in the IGC that is causing it. I looked that Land/Naval .csv's and they seemed to be identical between the two. I'm puzzled by this.

Unfortunately, I dont enough of the inner workings of the data files yet to have a clear understanding of which factors contribute or detract from the research progression. As noted above, my game using a modified version of Laurent's RealEU is giving me results that are far closer the mark IMO.

Well, I actually expect to max out.. I am in 1702 land tech of 44 naval only 20 and 7/7 in trade/infra in two to three yrs... This is the first campaign that I will play into the end, so I really don't know what it used to be before the patches.

Just finished my Poland game, don't have the exact numbers with me. But roughly Land tech ended at 42, naval tech more around 32 or so , trand was 6 and infrastructure was 5. I hesitate to find much in the way of conclusions. I think Poland is a difficult play and therefore may not compare well with my virgin V1.08 games. Caught in a vice between Austria and Russia and no colonies to help develope the economy. I quote exact numbers by tuesday.

Here are the actual numbers.

Year 1734

Pol = 27/25/3/5/5

Hab (the kick *ss power of this game)
38/21/3/8/7

And the game ended at year 18=792 with:

Pol = 42/32/3/6/5

Postscript.

I started a V1.9c IGC as France

year 1600 and the tech levels are:

13/17/3/6/5 and a strong economy (playing more of a diplomatic game rather than military.)

This seems fairly on track compared to my virgin GC 1.08 experience. So I don't think the IGC is particularly harder than GC, however, for me Poland was particularly hard for climbing the tech tree; I think that is peculiar to Poland (or at least to my inept handling of Poland).

The IGC should not affect tech progression, so any problems with that must also be present in the regular game. I've noticed the slow progression, but I attribute it to the 1.08 patch. I sincirely hope this is fixed in 1.09. (Even more, I hope there will be a patch to 1.09!)

It is my "common sense" belief that IGC should be no different than 1.08 with regard to tech advancement. And as is known, one of the 1.08 tweaks was to slow down tech advancement.

Personally I think they have it about right in V 1.08
