What I don't get is, why change the graphic from X preload, to {tick} preload, to X preload 9 hours - if you never intend to actually do a preload.

There is an adage, called Hanlon's razor, "Never attribute to malice that which can be adequately explained by stupidity." It is probably all SNAFU over there. Maybe X preload 9 hours means "you don't still get this benefit but anybody who already bought it can download 9 hours early". Anyway I imagine we will be speculating until the moment the download unlocks.
It's much more likely the work of an incompetent intern or an overworked staffer than anyone trying to mess with us.

I think I know what they are trying to tell us. You won't be able to preload 9 hours before the game is released, but any other time might be possible.
So a whole weekend lost ... ok, I stick with The Day After until then. Old but still fun, and a similar, sometimes annoying, supplysystem.

Just checked gamersgate's website. It says 'preload 9 hrs' but it still has a red x next to the preload? Anyone have any clue what this is supposed to represent? A mere joke from gg or they just forgot to change the x back to a check?
I am hoping it means that we can download at midnight (Swedish) on the 6th.
It would make sense that finally GG works out that to avoid the overload that they open it early for prepurchasers.
Anyway, I will be up at 6AM (Westerne Australian time) with my fingers crossed.
And if I'm wrong, I'm sure there is something useful I can do.
PS Originally it had a tick and Preload "x" hours.
Then it just had a Red Cross
Then the 9 hours appeared.
It would seem very odd that the change to "9 hours" was just a random mistake.
