No bug reports. They don't pay me to do that.
------------------------------------------------------
Furthest I've gotten is June 45 (this week)
Even included the Add Technologies mod because I thought for sure this was the one where I go deep.
USA, historical, reg difficulty, +1 slider to Axis and Japan.
Built up a 2.8 million army.
180 infantry divisions - 8 Inf/1 Arty/1 AA
80 motorized infantry divisions - same as above
10 mech divisions - same as above
25 armored divisions - 3 MAR/4 mech/1 MSPA/1 MSPAA/ 1 MTD
~ 30 Spec Forces divisions (8 Marines)
Carrier heavy fleet (9 CV and 3CVL)
225 screen CL/DD
150 submarines
Starting ships/subs upgraded to 40's tech, the rest 44.
7k fighters 1/2 upgraded Mustangs
2k CAS
4k NAV
2k TAC
vs. Japan 1
- Declare war on both the Panay (early 38) and Mexico/oilfield events.
- Got lucky with the 1st 125 PP spent to suspend inevitable strikes.
- Marines strike fast into Marshall Is. then Saipan/Iwo Jima. Interesting how well this worked because Japan obviously distracted in China
- Japanese fleets move into Bismarck Sea and stalemate me for a year
- After lengthy buildup, Air Force/Radar pushes Japanese fleets to S. China Sea
- US Navy finally refitted to 40's tech. combines with Marines and breezes through Caroline Is.
- US 3rd & 7th Fleets sink Japanese navy. Marines follow up on Formosa and Okinawa.
vs. Mexico
- Declare war on Mexico. After initial drive down Baja Peninsula, set a gambit around Albuquerque, juke down the Pacific coast to draw out his line, then punch through along Atlantic coast with armored units just coming off the production line. After capture Mexico City, dice up and consume.
Vs. Japan 2
- Move entire military to Pacific staging areas.
- After hard fighting, Marines successfully capture Tohoku, drawing Japanese units north.
- Unsuccessful British naval landings at Tokyo and Hiroshima acts as an unintentional feint, coalescing Japanese units south again. Heavily reinforced Tohoku bridgehead pushes south and capitulates Japanese empire.
vs. Italy
- Move entire military to Atlantic staging areas.
- German & Italian air forces already decimated by Soviet/British.
- Motorized landings at Messina (green air) drives up the boot and reaches Rome before defence coalesces.
- After 6 months stalemate, additional landings at Genoa & Venice shatters Italian army like glass. Dice up and consume.
vs. Vichy
- Armored drive up Rhone valley traps German & Vichy armies between river and Alps. Dice up and consume.
- Feint into Yugoslavia to distract attention.
- Armored drives on Vichy & Toulouse, reinforced by Airborne and Marine landings, shatters Vichy army like glass. Dice up and consume.
vs. Germany
- All vehicle units drive along coast to Amsterdam, turn right and go straight for Berlin. Foot units garrison Italy etc. and dice/consume interior regions.
- Spec forces units move through Denmark into Sweden. Berlin bridgehead moves south to Vienna.
- Foot garrisons in Italy dislodge Germans from Alps. CAS decimates them as they retreat north.
- Soviets slam the door shut in the east and Sweden.
When things got weird and I rage quit
- Germany & Italy had no territories left. All other minor Axis nations (Hungary, Bulgaria etc.) were long gone.
- Peru & Venezuela went Axis but were dispatched soon enough.
- The only territory left was Vichy in Madagascar, but Germany never surrendered. The Axis never quit the war.
- I tagged to Germany, just a few ships in Baltic. Deleted them, checked all the other Axis, nothing. But they wouldn't capitulate.
- USSR grabbed a checker board of stuff in Europe and since I never got the peace deal I couldn't set up East/West Germany etc.
- I had planned on going world domination on this one and with the added tech was thinking 70's end maybe.
I'm starting a German, early war now. Hope that goes through. Would like to finish one of these.
