What about a support of 3D-Screens?
In the first moment you think: Why sould I need 3D in a strategic game.
But take a look at the map of for example Civilisation 5 in 3D !!! Its awesome!
For me HOI is the best strategy game I have ever played because it's much more complex than all the other games. HOI in 3D would be great!

Paradox games are characterized by their focus on "world-map" strategy, and I think that's what Paradox specializes in. If they switch from focusing on the grand strategy (economics, diplomacy and military of specific period in history) to spending most of their time developing shinning look 3D graphics (which I think EU4 did a pretty good job at regardless), then I think the game will no longer be as attractive to total history nerds as it's used to.

Please, Please, Please no "real" 3D map in HOI4.
I always immediately turn it off in Civ V to have a chance to have a clear view on the important facts. Very bad design flaw that there is no way to turn it off persistently.
With the effort spend on this spend on relevant features, Civ V would have been so much better.
