Truly! I ask only this: FOCUS of 35 days for all! Are a change of 2 minute. I can do it with Notepad ++ "find Cost = 10 sobstitute with : cost = 5" 2 minutes!

Then do it , have fun with your war that start in 1937 and end in 1939 . And go full infantry , no time to build proper tank division , nothing used past 1940 in the tech tree , it really seems interesting and fun to play!

The focus that should be 35 days are mostly industrial/military that nobody take for obvious reason : really poor benefit in a game where you race against time .

But that's modding, it's not valid. You remind me of a user who used my words against me ... however the 35 focuses, or rather a 35 tree exists: and it is the Mexican one ... and is considered by 90% of the forum users to be the best NF in the game. Why? Because you don't have to literally throw 70 days for 2 industries, you don't have to throw 70 days for 1 or 2 X100 on a technology branch. But above all you don't have to pray to every existing divinity hoping that while you complete the focus your objective (since it is done on 39/40/41) you will not enter a faction with your own faction (LoL) or in an enemy faction (where for do that territorial enlargement of 3 provinces you literally have to win the ww2).
If you remember (just look on the forum) French NF is considered, not bad: HORRIBLE, because the good bonuses are at the end, too bad you get those bonuses in 42/43, when the games are already done! That is, I can understand not doing WW2 in 37 and ending it in 39 ... but one thing is to flood vs 2 neighboring nations, the other is to get those provinces you have to kick: USA, UK and maybe even the USSR. ... it seems to me slightly too much for a territorial enlargement of a few provinces when after these focuses ... there is just against the major you have just kicked / are fighting -.-

1: Why do you care if it's modding or not ? For achievement ?
2: Mexican tree isn't a full 35 days focus tree , it's 50/50 between 70 and 35 days focus . it also end with a 210 days focus
3: French NF have problem but it's not horrible , most of the tree is fine , the problem of France are the ridiculous national spirit . As France you play to remove your debuff and that's not very fun , that's the main problem .
4: Sure , some focus tree are a bit too long but that doesn't mean we need to put EVERYTHING at 35 days , because that's what you are asking for and that's dumb .
5: All of this seems to be more an achievement problem than anything else , if you don't care about achievement you can just mod it to your liking and be done with it , like you said it take 5 min to do . I don't care about achievement and i find the ones in HOI 4 to be terrible RNG bullshit for most of them so i don't even try . I'm here to have fun , not to suffer .

1/5) I don't care about the results, (I don't game in ironman because I'm always terrified of corrupt saves)
2/4) I know, 90% 35 Focus is more of a provocation, but you have to see that it is much more comfortable like this ... if for 2 civil / military factories, some infrastructure, I have to wait 70 days ... for those 70 days there are Focus giving a lot more industries ... in other trees (or something like the reichautobanh which maximizes infrastructure in 3-4 states which is very good)
3) Exactly, they are all focuses for 70 days ... if on various strong debuffs I do not remove only one before the Germans ... that is, I would prefer that maybe I can not eliminate them all (or most of them) if I PLAY BAD ... not that EVERYTHING I DO STAYS THAT.

1: Then mod it .
2: How do you hope to be taken seriously if you exagerate what you are thinking ?
3: No , it's the other way around , the national spirit are so harsh that you can't use 50% of the tree (or you lose ) . The tree in itself isn't to blame , it's just that the devs want france to lose that bad that you can't even field half of what the french army was in 1940 IRL .

1) yes, but the problem remains for the other players.
2) it works more often than you think (I've been around video game forums for years) and it's also an old trick: Take a shot and then it will be accepted moderate.
3) ok that france must lose ... if it follows the historical path! If one wants to take other paths, he ends up ... he loses the same ... we add the "economic" branch where it often is: 70 days for 2 civil industries; I repeat it is too little ... maybe if they created a "focus at different time" system where if (for France) you choose the non-historical political path; the time drops dramatically (28/35 days). It would be a nice compromise.

Hey, I have made a thread HERE concerning the problems with France in this game, if you are willing to check it out and bump if you agree and have time to look trough it, it would help making the devs see it anD MAYBE consider some changes.

Some of the feelings that appear to be in this thread are:

-- The design of national focuses is inconsistent in terms of

  • Effects (some focuses inject more power into the game than other focuses)
  • Time (the duration of certain focuses is not commensurate with their strength)

Did I get that right? Physics majors might have pointers on how to better use the term "power" or "strength" :)

Possible approaches to make focuses better could include:

-- Assign a power score to each focus in order to assess each focuses overall effect on game balance
-- Normalize the effect of the power by dividing by time (210 days, 70 days, 35 days)

An evaluation of HoI4 game design will reveal inconsistencies and power inbalances. This discussion about "how much bang for the buck" do players get for certain focuses highlights one of the ways the game design dances with variance.

Calculating a power score for each focus would help smooth out the game-design variance.

The bigger picture? More sales.
Thesis (yes, there is the anti-thesis): Multiplayer games sell more than singleplayer games.

The inconsistency of the national focus power-to-time ratio introduces inbalance in a multiplayer setting, thus limiting the multiplayer aspect of the game and thus retarding sales.

yes in SP with france you can won easily normally (IA are dumb) in sp the french focus are garbage (with others) why? Why player not choose the focus sequence like IA! Are normally more efficent or declare manually war(if rule allow it) dot me the time of focus are 7 or 14 minimum,21/28/35 and other until the 140 focus. A simple method to calculate the " power " are N of days / reward exemple if german focus give to you a total of 6 civilian and french focus 2(both 70d)...for equalize the German one you need to spend 210 days! Like a year for 6 civilian, and the first year are wasted only for 6/8 civilian factory (when calculating make it manually are more speed?)?!
