There we go. It turns out the 64-bit discussion was a cover-up for China DLC desire. It still amaze me that people want the whole map in CK2. Let's look at the other playstyles who are represented.
Merchant republics: Gold sink gameplay and rushing to new provinces for trade post.
Horse lords: Raiding feels good but everything else doesn't.
Vikings: Everything about them is good.
India: Maybe 20% of the players ever started a game there but never finished.
Muslims: Decadence system never felt right.
Even today the further you go east to more it gets lackluster just imagine if this game has gone the far east!
Games where you need a world map.
EU: Colonization times.
Vicky: Imperialism.
HOI: World war 2.
In a game like medieval times where there are no world affairs going on you don't have to represent the whole world map. Of course, I would like another Sengoku or Romance of the Three kingdoms type game but I don't need to know what's going on in old Europe while I'm on China or vise versa.
I don't think it was a technical reason. It's just common sense.
