- Improved the peace negotiation AI.

Yeah I think so!!!!!!!!!

So I started a game as MEC to test the COT remove command once more (worked fine btw)
But I got into a war during the test with Denmark, so lets beat a little up on Denmark……
Doing fine, with all my allies, but Denmark was siegeing my province… but I’ll take it back when I got the Danish provinces…….but NOOOOOOOOOOOOnoooooooo
As soon a Denmark got my Province they auto forces a peace on me!!!!! – taking 300 bucks in the process!!!!! – dang!
They did not ask me for peace, they just did it!

Okidoky! That must be something with my brain.
So I started as SHL, declared war on Denmark, let them take my province – and BAM they annex me!!!!!!! Without asking for any peace – forcing the end screen (cause I was out of the game)!

This is probably a bug, but it is quiet an intriguing development in the ai behaviour :)
That are to keep you on your toes in war :D

I don't know what are whinning about.
They sad that they would improve the peace negotiation AI, and this is exactly what they did.
You can't say that Denmark performance isn't improved, can you?;)

When an opponent has a 100% peace on a human player, he cannot decline the offer - otherwise you could, for instance, just keep refusing annexation requests until the other nation collapsed as a one province minor in SP or continue the war forever against another human in MP until they fell apart.

This is working as designed, as far as I know, and nothing new.

However, it is now no longer possible to demand more than 100% in peace negotiations, which closes an awful loophole in MP. (100% peace, demand everything the opponent owns, way beyond 100%, forced acceptance)

AFAIK the ai was always able to mil-annex you without asking if they occupied your only prov (even if you had allies). Apparently they can force other sorts of peaces as well.

Have you tried letting the ai get 100% peaces against you as a multi-province country? Maybe it's a new feature, but I doubt it.
EDIT:Nevermind the above... made obsolete by Peter Ebbeson's post

Phil

PS- Daywalker, WHEN can we expect your ai mod?? I'm getting antsy. :)

This is nothing new ... It's always been this way ... I've tried it a few times ... as Wallachia and as (a 1-province) Byzans in the AGC.

If you loose your only province and has none of theirs, you are auto-annexed ... actually I'm a bit amazed that you away so cheaply in your game as MEC ...

First of all I’m not whining at all. I for ALL ai improvements!
But it did come as a surprise. Don’t know if it has been there before, just never saw it.

I’m in a war with six allies again Denmark, we are all over his provinces. I single-handed have more soldiers in the field then Denmark. We in all got 5 times as many in the field.
And just because Denmark takes my one province, it auto-forces a peace on me, taking all money I have – never even asking about anything, just does it.
Hey….. I cant do this kind of thing with the ai – cant even do it with another human player.

I’ve seen single province ai refuse peace deals even if they have no money or soldiers in the field.
Presumably its because it has a couple of strong allies, who can come to the rescue

Well I had strong allies, let it run a few rounds more and Denmark would be begging for peace.
Hell it could at least just ASK me for peace – then force it on me if I refuse like 3 times or something.

It was a test game

Just happen to stumble into this ai behaviour I’ve never seen before – for me it’s completely new.

Not much fun in taking (not to talk about realistic) as Lorraine half of France, just to lose your one province to France or any allies he may have…….

If you hold any province besides your own, the AI can't get a 100% peace against you...

Thats true, but who says I hold at least one province of each i'm at war with?
I could hold all of France as say Holstein - just about to strike a major peace deal with them, - being seperate at war with Denmark also, and they could annex my arse out of the game, before I could make a deal with France.
Does not seam fair to me.

[hopeful it does not work that way....]

Hasn't the game always worked this way? Stability hits for turning down peace, and auto resolution when the peace offer is a certain % below what the victory % is?

I think that the controlling province was changed between 1.05 and 1.06. It used to be that if a country controlled ANY province anywhere, an enemy could not gain a 100% victory. This was the case in 1.05, but not in 1.06. I think they were going to change it back to the betas. I can't remember if they've changed it in the betas.
