So I conquered the byzantine empire as Castile.

I'm now King of Castile, about 150 other titles, and, oh yes, Emperor of Byzantium.

I don't get the emperor's +10 demese bonus though.

You have be Byzantium first then everything else.

So grant someone the title of 'King of Castille' and revoke it afterwards. That way you can reorder your titles.

No. If you do that he goes independent and you can't take the title back.
What you need to do is make your heir Emperor of Byzans and then reload as him (then perhaps kill the father with the 'die' cheat).

I can understand that's the way the code currently works, but that's precisely the bug I'm complaining about here.

It shouldn't matter what the order of my titles is. If one of them is emperor of Byzantium, I should get the benefits thereof.
