Hello gents I will be there on time for the session, but I'm unsure whether I want or can play the USSR. I think for game balance we need to switch me somewhere else.

Im happy to play the soviets, but mike said I should be minor for the first game.

I'll be happy to beat up on you enigma, its pay back time.

It seems major has discovered the problem of why we are dropping out. Please have a read through this, its a bit technical but read the conclusions. http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=225334

Basicaly its a number of problems between software and the routers. Its to do with Direct X and the NAT on our routers. Now if it was only my router on a NAT it would be fine as im the host, but there are others on a NAT which is causing probs. Basicaly whats happening is that after 30 seconds or so or in activity by the host or other players the game loses connection, this can be directly caused by "pausing the game". So i propose that we do not pause any more, if you need the game to run slower due to so many things happening just ask the host to slow it down.

Like on Jan 1st or when doing builds ill just turn game speed down to very slow and you will just have to do the best you can. This should help speed the game up a little anyway and if it avoids crashes great.

There is little else that can be done to avoid the problem.

Engima you dont know me that well, we played a few games of botf together, these people i play with here have know me for 3-4 years. They know me alot better then you do.

Interesting session, good to see spain finaly secure in the facisit camp after there long struggle.

The session started aggresive with the USSR canceling trade deals right from the word go. This has enraged Adolf, how dare they cancel deals with out first negioating why they are canceling, this is an open act of hostility against Germany. Staling then had the hide to make unreasonable demands, who does he think he is, an iron curtain has decended across european except its alot closer to the russian border and moscow this time.

Germany has recalled its amasador and ceased diplomatic relations with the USSR. In light of the USSR refusing to negioate on equal terms Germany has no choice but to prepare for early war. Diplomatic comminquese with the western allied nations have also agreed that the overt soviet agressiveness must be dealt with, secret agreements have been reached with western european powers which cannot be revealed at this time.

Germany expects early war in early to mid 1939 in the eastern europe area, measure will be tacken to secure the Eastern front aginast communism.

A new Cold war has begun indeed.

Well Mike

These fine players may have known you longer than me but all I can say is if they actullay knew you BETTER they would have come up with a more effective defense/attack plan to counter Germany a long time ago. My info is that you have never been beaten as Germany! If they are still unable to beat you after this many years, well ...

Never been beaten i wish that was true, im yet to win a game agianst the USSR as Germany. Dont know who told you that rubbish, ask major he normaly plays the USSR against me. There have been a few game that looked like i could win them but they were never finished.

So you dont need to do anything special as the USSR to win.

I will make this one last offer Engima, after this there will be no negioations and no agreements offered by Germany. This is the standard normal deal the USSR and Germany do in our games that are fair to both sides and allows for all normal events and wars to fire as they should.

Germany & USSR have non-aggression pact until June 22nd 1941
Turkey and Sweden considered nuetral for both sides.
Germany gives the USSR full molotov-ribbentrop pact, giving the USSR, half of poland, all of estonia, latvia, lithuania and claims in romania. This also leads to the finish winter war with reduced dissent for you. If you dont want this deal when the finish winter war happens you will get another 10 dissent that the Soviet player dosnt normaly get add that on top of the 10 dissent for each purge event you get.
In return Germany gets free reign in Europe without soviet interferrance & resources. Normal resource trades are 20 energy, 20 metal, 20 oil, 10 rares for 10 supplies.

This is the stanfard aggreement and in my opinion favors the USSR, as an early strike against the USSR is germanies only hope at winning. But an early war with the USSR nearly gurantees that the game wont last till 41 or 42 as either side winning the war in the east will be to powerful then to defeat. This will grealty annoy our players who are Japan & US who are waiting till some time in 1941 for there war to start. So they are likely to not see action if an early war errupts between Germany & USSR. This is the reason we do this deal so the game flows like normal and all players can actualy play in it and have fun. We dont play just to win but to try and have a nice long game with lots of action.

If we dont agree to a deal its going to to get very messy and a more then even chance to wreak the game.

Upto you if you dont accept this standard deal, you can ask the others here, its a more then fair deal, then things will get ugly in europe.

Balls in your court.

Well I have never seen what happens with no MR pact but I know its not good for the game overall. Germany doesnt really need the resources but I never like Mike to have the excuse that he didnt have the resources. I like to beat him up on the battlefield. We did have rules in our group that prevented the Soviets from doing anything to actually force the Germans to DOW them and thereby avoid the GDE. Things like attacking Poland, Romania etc. We use to have rules about keeping the starting trades also. We got rid of a lot of the rules and try to let common sense prevail. The no war until Danzig house rule was brought in place to keep everything nice and balanced until every side has had a chance to produce enough units to defend themselves..ie the allies are restricted by gearing limits etc. Should their be no MR pact wanted by the Soviets I dont see any need to keep war until Danzig event as the game will be unbalanced if we force the Germans to stick to a historical timetable when historical offerings are not going to be accepted. If I was the Soviets and in the interests of having a good long game I would suggest coming to terms with the Germans and leaving war until the historical time of June 1941. Afterall some of us are playing together for the first time so I dont see the need for any great variations.
If the Axis have made deals in the West it is going to be tough for the Ruskies if the Germans decide to go them in 1939.

I am happy to give you non-agg pact but nothing else in the interest of continued game play. I am agreeing to this only as a sign of good faith, so now if what you said is true, you will promptly send me an agreement.

On the other hand, if you dont sign then your motivations become obvious.

Now the ball is in YOUR court!

The non agression pact includes these points they are not seperate.

No war till June 22nd 1941
Turkey & Sweden Nutral.
You get the full MR pact i get free reign in europe.
I get the resources deals of 20 energy, 20 metal, 20 oil & 10 rares for 10 supplies. (read the the actual event that fires in the game, it say germany got resource deals in the real life deal).

This is the Non-aggression pact there are no seperate entities to this its is a whole deal or no-deal.

Like major said i dont really need the resources but this has become a princial now, and there will be no deal without it. This deal has never been a real problem in the past unless you have other motives.

All the people here know i always wait for june 22nd 1941 to make a good game of it. This deal is more then fair for Russia. Are you prepared to face the full might of Germany all on a single front in 1939, you wont be as the USSR needs those two year extra to build up. It is in your interest to accept this deal, it will only favor me if you reject it. Becuase not only will you face German forces it will be the combined might of Germany/Italy/Spain plus other axis minors.

I ask you to accept thsi deal Stalin in the interest of world peace. Do you accept.

Mike returns ball to Egima with a blistering serve.

Joesph drives are hard bargain? No resources in exchange? You have so many....Uncle Joe you must understand that the Western Allies do not want an early war as we are restricted by gearing limits and an early war favours the German player. Couldnt you throw a few scraps to Germany to keep them nice and peacable? You have so many you will never miss them and the Western Allies have plenty to send in the way of supplies and resources should you need them.

Your points are noted.

I will sign the MR ... BUT ... if I play the USSR in the future I will NOT sign again. I have played the USSR (furious setting) before and not signed, no allied military support and conquered Europe alone AND was in a position to defend myself from 1939!!!

The only reason I am signing is because I am new to the group and will abide by the group decision but you have now received fair warning.

Mike, you may remember my style of game play (remember I beat you as the Fergs as well - NO cloak) so you will know that I do not take kindly to people going back on their word. If you do that again, like you did in the the other game, in this game you will regret it.
