Oh and on the CORE mod I asked the lead devoloper of the mod about MP testing and stability this was the reply.

AFAIK, there has been no testing of CORE for MP. I do not know if it will be stable for the MP environment or not. I am less concerned about the combat mechanism than the events. The problem with writing events for MP is pace of MP games. It seems like wars happen sooner (more people to get bored?), so that throws off the timing of the event. If we increase the rate the event triggers are checked or make it checked earlier you are using CPU cycles.

I am not saying CORE isn't designed for MP, but it hasn't been tested for MP. Once we have some data, we could probably make a version specifically designed for MP, sort of like the 1938 scenario in Vanilla. I would recommend not starting a long term MP game in CORE immediately after release because I don't know what it would do. MDow

There you have it, it is not being designed for MP at this stage, I would seriously recomend that we not even consider it for a game until it is well proven in its SP form and has been tested properly in MP. You know as well as I that there are a whole host of issues that are purely MP related that a MOD could fall foul of. Extra events and new unit designations (individual DDs and subs for example) will increase the CPU usage probably stretching our connections even further. I fear it would be immensly unstable as a result. HOi2 is a lot more greedy on the bandwidth then HOI1 ever was, remember that and with the extras in CORE it will I think push us over the limit. And you know how frustrating the last few months have been for the group will all the crashes etc

Wait and see is what I think we should do.

That is the same situation the orginal CORE was in, it was never designed for MP as well, but it worked. It was actauly the Aussie group through its testing which lead there to be a MP version and improvements to the game.

We will play our normal vanilla games, but i will also start up a CORE game so that we can begin testing it and see where the problems are. If you dont test it how will we ever find them.

BB me and a few others here have been down this path with CORE before, you have made it clear you do not want to play it. Thats ok but dont try and stop others that would like too. It will be buggy and have problems but we will help fix them over time.

In other news game is still on for 7pm at present.

Although a new problem has occured, majors main PC has crapped itself and no longer works, no power to it. So major may have to use is much slower PC to host. Anyway cya tonight.

I'm not against using it, I just don't see why you're so keen to jump in straight away. Just because CORE1 was good doesn't mean this one is... And I have my doubts that you will continue with vanilla games so in effect you are forcing me to use the MOD...

International Relation - U.S.A have taken a down turn with usa canels trades and turning down all offer .We dont know how a country can say one thing and do another, if that is democracy we will have no part of it .
-Germany and Italy have taken the world by strom. Relation have never been better with the talk in trade and tech and new lands opening up in all areas .
- Russian troops have been seen along the borders but nothing has been said yet , we have gone into talks hoping for peace
- UK and their allies with the buit up of their fleets so near our shipping lane we have gone into major talks, yet to have an out come.
- China. With the increasing in troop movements and material being moved along the borders it does not look good. Many japan men are saying the time has come for a show down , with china farmers steal land and crossing the borders.
Long Term - We can only hope that usa and china back down and come to talking as any responsable nation should do.

The truth is it was Japan that cut all trade with the USA after an initial trade deal offered by Japan was rejected.

Problem is BB you cannot edit techs in else they dont have any effect. I can make an existing tech team have the tech 99% finished and it will work. However to do this I must use one of your tech teams currently in work and you will lose that progress for that tech. Now considering it is only 5% MP may I suggest adding in some MP to compensate for the period of time it takes you to retech it? You do have the blueprint so it should be done very quickly.

No I can't retech it, my team is only skill 2 and it took almost 12 months the first time. Spains tech is really backward, I'm still catching up to 1937 levels. Don't worry about it, I will just leave it and you can edit me a small amount of manpower later. I'm only gaining 0.29 right now as is so it won't have much effect but still. If i try and retech it, I will go seriously behind on land doctrines and aircraft tech and I can't do that so meh.
