One question i have stated/asked many times...

Who the hell wants to play a historical game in MP ?. I mean geee... how fun to play a game that ends almost exactly as the last one. Namely SU and Allies kicking germany down together.

I agree that the easiest way to solve it is make it 4 Axis players from the get-go vs 3 Allied, 1 Comintern...especially if you had the 4th Axis as a historically neutral country such as Spain or Argentina.

How do you interpret this as forcing a historical game? it's actually trying to avoid automatic Soviet w/ Allies v. Axis.

Big's point is that the GAME has hard coded penalties to Soviet Union if the Axis are out and the Russians are still fighting the Allies. Nothing to do with requiring historical accuracy. I've argued for a fluid game ever since I started posting

That's not the point either. This isn't about figuring out how many ON each side, it's about how many sides there ARE.

The whole point of this thread is that we don't like how it always ends up being SU and the Allies taking down Germany together. So, you're preaching to the choir.

I play a very independent Russia. I make deals with both sides or some times I go cold and do not talk to either. I try to do what is best for Russia, not what is best for the Axis or Allies. Also, who says you have to kick the Axis all the way out? If you just leave some goofy country like Afghanistan in the Axis, and Anex/Puppet every one else then your CGs stay down too doesn't it?

One of the most fun, if truly bizarre games I've ever player was an eight player LAN game, v1.03

Player controlled: USA, ENG, GER, JAP, SOV, ITA, CHI, SPA(late joiner)

It was bizarre because we were all trundling along nicely, standard random aggression etc, when we all see flash up the following event:

"The Revolution has come!"

Apparently the guy playing the US didn't feel like being all democratic and shiznat, and went with the hardline commie option, before proceeding to conquer the entirety of notrh and south america excepting Canada and the British, French and Dutch bits. He still didn't join the Comintern, though.

4 way wars are so much fun :D
