I always thought the high amount of losses and lack of retreat in naval battles was a bit strange. Every large war seems to end with one side losing almost their entire navy.George LeS said:I'm still hoping the AI will be taught to break off action when the battle's result is obvious.
And I hope the "no losses = losing fleet wiped out" bug is gone.

George LeS said:As I understand it, if a losing fleet retreats because their morale is broken, it's wiped out. (I have retreated from battles before this stage, & lost only a few ships, the # shown in the battle screen). Since this is an acknowledged bug, I have to assume it will be addressed in 3.1. If not, well, it's back to NA for me.
But the reluctance of the AI to retreat from battles is a related problem. It seems to be always the case that they fight until the last man/ship routs. Surely, it'd be better if it could read the handwriting on the wall, & get out before that?
Unrelated wish: would there was a "master pause" button, which would pause every time you hit it, instead of the current situation where windows popping up as you hit pause can mean over a week delay in actually pausing the game. A particularly bad result is when you want a fleet, which is carring troops, to enter port & leave right away, without unloading. But there are many such instances.

The spacebar toggles pause. As far as I know there is no dedicated pause button that will pause the game if running and do nothing if the game is already paused. It would be useful when you are trying to pause the game and a popup and pause when comes up at the same time. The popup pauses the game and you unpause it.JCFast said:Umm hitting spacebar stops the game right away? At least for me it does.
