Better Italian provinces will just mean that Austria, France and Aragon will rip through it more because there is a bigger incentive :( . They still won't put up a good fight.

And since it's a one shot deal... meh... who cares about a freakin' artist. They are a dime a dozen as is, and for thousands of ducats that's all we get? Thanks for modability at least.

The artist was the example for Fine Arts Manufactory (and I agree, humbug on the bum and the arts) but I believe the Philosopher is for University and a 5 or 6 star philosopher doesn't stay unemployed long. It is the chance that is interesting. Someone said you get the manufactory, of course you do...you just paid to put it somewhere you probably hitherto had scarcely given a thought to.

I think anything to give us more advisers is cool, I'd just rather have the useful advisers appear more. Sure you get plenty as the big guys like France and England, but if you don't get a Statesman or a Commandant at the start with smaller powers you may never see one the rest of the game.

LOL, I just read all previous threads. My first suggestion is null and void because it is already on the list. :)

If anything more hmm... perhaps ability to buy province instead of Sell-only mode. To buy province you need "core" on that location.

I'm still hoping the AI will be taught to break off action when the battle's result is obvious.

And I hope the "no losses = losing fleet wiped out" bug is gone.

I run on speed 5, but I have *everything important* set to pop up.
I then pause and react then continue.

Saves me time.

I always thought the high amount of losses and lack of retreat in naval battles was a bit strange. Every large war seems to end with one side losing almost their entire navy.

1. Ability to set auto-pause when alliance/trade agreement/peace offer/join war/royal marriage icon appear in the corner.

Right now at max speed offer is usually gone before you could react.

2. More active AI diplomacy when allied.

Right now if AI invite me to join the war I always save the game before joining the fray, just in case - in particular if my armies are far from front lines and/or Im not prepared for war. Unfortunately if I mess some things and war is not going as planned when you reload save, AI wont ask you again to join the war. And DOW costs stability. It must be addressed.

3. Easier alliances between countries with the same faith. Protestant countries in particular.

I dont remember if somebody suggested that.

4. More "aggresive" spread of & conversion to Protestantism.

Usually Im the only one Protestant country in the world. A bit silly.

5. Turn on/off 3D icons. It wont happen but asking anyway. :p

As I understand it, if a losing fleet retreats because their morale is broken, it's wiped out. (I have retreated from battles before this stage, & lost only a few ships, the # shown in the battle screen). Since this is an acknowledged bug, I have to assume it will be addressed in 3.1. If not, well, it's back to NA for me.

But the reluctance of the AI to retreat from battles is a related problem. It seems to be always the case that they fight until the last man/ship routs. Surely, it'd be better if it could read the handwriting on the wall, & get out before that?

Unrelated wish: would there was a "master pause" button, which would pause every time you hit it, instead of the current situation where windows popping up as you hit pause can mean over a week delay in actually pausing the game. A particularly bad result is when you want a fleet, which is carring troops, to enter port & leave right away, without unloading. But there are many such instances.

Umm hitting spacebar stops the game right away? At least for me it does.

Such button would be nice to have. But to "visit" the port without unloading troops, simply use shift button to set the path for the ship. This way transport ships can visit multiple ports, and they will only unload troops in their final destination.

The spacebar toggles pause. As far as I know there is no dedicated pause button that will pause the game if running and do nothing if the game is already paused. It would be useful when you are trying to pause the game and a popup and pause when comes up at the same time. The popup pauses the game and you unpause it.

Out if interest, why would you want to visit a port without unloading troops? You don't get any repairs, you don't suffer any more or less attrition than you would staying in the coastal province. I can't see any advantage over just staying put outside the port.

My hope for 3.2 is the ability to rename wars, especially now we can even rename provinces and capitals. After all, history is written by the winner, and I'd much prefer to have taken land from my enemies in the 9th War of Austrian Liberation than the 321st War of French Aggression...
