I take it the effects of 'support for rebels' last a bit longer then. I never used to bother as the increase in RR passed in the blink of an eye. (The same could be said for many espionage missions: even if successful the effects are either too weak or fleeting to be worth the money and diplomatic penalties.)

Agreed. Besides, it really doesn't make much sense. I can understand if these buildings have a chance to be destroyed during a siege, but destroying them as a result of a peace settlement? That's just bizarre.

Yes. I don't think that the new change would be very useful without the RR lasting a lot longer. Right now, I think it lasts something ridiculously low, like a month. It's a spy mission I would use a lot more often if it actually stuck around for awhile. Even a year would seem reasonable. As it is, the only two spy missions I ever bother to use are "sow discontent" and "fabricate claims." The rest are just far too short term to be of much use.

Well it would probably make Italy just like every other cultural group trying to unite.

I wouldn't worry, my wild stab in the dark guess is probably complete and total bollocks.



Theirs always been concerns in the EU-series about making people pay the full scaling cost for manufactory's. For instance nation A) has tonnes of manufactory's and chooses to trade land to nation B) (which has none) then gets nation B) to build a manufactory for its base cost and trade it back ... and so on, until nation A) litteraly can't move for manufactory's. Of course recent patches/expansion's have made this kind of thing difficult (like losing cores on traded provinces) but not impossible.

Destroying all building taken from other nations would kill it off entirely. Extreme, but it would stop it. Not really saying I'm for or against the idea, merely stating the idea has been voiced before.

Doesn't seem gamey at all to me. "I want to bring all of the best minds in Europe under my regime" doesn't seem like an outrageous objective. The north-Italian universities are one of the biggest boons to playing as, say, Milan -- yeah, you don't start with a center of trade, but you have some universities, and you can get a lot more and establish yourself as the technological and cultural leader of the peninsula -- perfect justification for uniting it.

Maybe, but that seems like a very easy 'CB', doesn't it? Maybe if it costs one stability, if we assume the people wouldn't be too happy that the state is going to war over another country's independence. Then again that wouldn't always make sense, so I don't know.

Hopefully not to resurrect some utterly beaten dead horses, but no.... when comparing to historical numbers, Italy was the most obviously defecient. (not even bringing up France here :p) As far as manpower anyway. The base tax is actually minimal in the grand scheme, if one can safely assume they don't mean doubling it or something silly :p.

50 virtual bucks says it's not in the teaser because the bug is a misunderstood rumor. Like I keep beating on a different drum :). Although perhaps they are saving that for last, you'd sure think it'd be in the first teaser with how many people seem to think they are fighting latin tech.
