2nd Patch

From various experiences (M2TW "patch" being the worst one) I can say it is better to give them time to make a GOOD patch that actually FIXES the problems.

An early bad patch will get nothing but negative feedback. A late good patch will get critisism for being so late but after it is released most people are happy.

Well if the patches are almost reliable or modifications are easy to disable like in many Eu3 cases they could release beta-patches.

Some way to suffer a bit with graphics in return for faster playspeed would be great.

Don't get your hopes up on that score, the divorce between AI / event processing and graphics was behind the shift to 3D, so it's probably the event checking each day that's limiting people's play speed. Try the usual tricks with swapfile / pagefile size, defragging your hard drive, disabling virus scanners while playing, etc.

I was just curious if there was any new information, since I didnt really see any on the general and other forum. Additonally I was hoping that a lot of the MP problems were actually the Metaserver and not the game.

Thanks for the info I hope they fix a lot of the problems and come out with it soon. I just expect a lot from Paradox I guess.

This is actually the first time i bought a game for like 1 year! And now, 1 month after i bought it, i kind of regret that i bought it. I could have just used my downloaded copy, but i thought Paradox deserved the money! The game i bought barley works though.

Because the patch has to be tested. Would you rather he promise a date, then delay because a huge problem was found in testing?

Putting a hard delivery date on a patch is an excellent way to insure that you trade one set of problems for another.

I'm not sure what you think "barely works" about EU3. It's FAR more stable than most Paradox games at v1.1.

First the fact that previous paradox have been unplayable at 1.0 really isn’t an excuse... Secondly the multiplayer is completely unplayable at the moment and has been for 2 months, that is pretty bad for a company that prides itself on its post release support

So Paradox can't say that the patch will arrive for example in a week? Or a month? They CAN give an E.T.A!

And the MP dosen't work, that's half the reason i bought the game, so maybe Paradox can send me back half the money i bought it for then?

Then reality sucks. Better to make sure the patch works than to arbitrarily define a date, and hold to the date even if there are problems.

Or conversely, release a patch on the date they state and it isn't complete.
