2D Galaxy - v1.0.0​

This mod gets rid of the faux 3d galaxy all together and makes the galaxy fully 2d. The z plane is basically removed, which helps in telling what systems are in what borders. Whilst this is compatible with save games it will only take effect on newly generated galaxies that the mod is active in.

Installation

1. download the attached .zip file
2. unzip file to your ".../documents/paradox interactive/stellaris/mod" folder (create it if it does not exist)
3. Enable the "2D Galaxy" mod

Updating

1. Go to your ".../documents/paradox interactive/stellaris/mod" folder
2. Delete the "2d_galaxy" folder
3. Delete the "2d_galaxy.mod" file
4. Following installation instructions

Any/All parts of this may be used by anyone else for any reason, as long as it is in compliance with the Rules for User Made Mods and Edits of PDS games. Due to the nature of the mod, no credit is needed to be given if any/all of this mod is used anywhere else.​

Heads up guys, it says that it is out of date but it is not. I need to reupdate how my files read that. You can still use it without issue

One trick I am doing is setting the version to "1.0.*" that way you don't have to worry about each hotfix.

But it is already easy to tell, I wouldn't give up an awesome 3D map for that feature.

You just have to look at this hexagon, if it shares the same color as your border then it means the system is in range if it's gray then it is not. Works for AI factions as well. Another thing is to just hover your cursor over it and it will tell if it lies in your border or not.

I suppose it is more personal choice than anything. Personally I hate trying to see those grey hexagons which I really need to concentrate to find.

But thanks for bringin that point up for anyone who didn't realise it.

If you want to improve performace you can turn off HDR by using the '`' and typing hdr then press enter. If you want it back just type hdr in again.
