If that shows up it means a decision somewhere is bugged (either by using faulty commands or because it's lacking brackets).
It's a common side effect for typos in decisions (a decision somewhere has been "cut short" by the game and it's parts are showing as independent decisions instead that doesn't do anything).

Has anyone else seen this? I've added none since installing the patch, & if the old ones are bad now, they'd have been bad before, right?

EDIT: Turns out it was my mistake, after all. Bad copy/paste job. So, never mind....

The mods crash when a country is selected and it says "loading history". Has anyone got an idea what causes this? Logs show nothing and they worked fine before.

No, muslim still upgrades to eastern, bypassing the ottoman group.
Note the ottoman group has not yet been added the list of groups you can be adjacent to in order to allow westernizing either. Probably should be added in the next beta.

Looks to me like the error shows up when starting a game and not when the game is loading?
Your problem might actually be the text rendering crash bug in that case. There's supposed to be a new beta out tomorrow that fixes that so if your lucky the problem will go away ;)

The funny thing was that Doomdark had done the Ottoman changes the day earlier and then someone at the team (think it was King, might have been podcat) reads the thread and goes "LOL, someone had the exact same idea has you had."

Mods written for previous versions are not guaranteed to work under any new beta either. You really need to take this up in the mod forum.

The last version 4.1b 29 March fixes the bug causing Ctd when selecting manually some dates or bookmarks (in relation with the new country names on the map feature). And improves the interface, too (among other). :)
