We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
It is, as a matter of fact, not legit. They are known for stealing credit card information and selling fake/stolen keys. I had an issue with this when I purchased Football Manager 2016 from them. My key was revoked by Sports Interactive stating that it was a "illegitimate key." Long story short, I spent $120 on FM16, buying it twice. After that, I only purchase from Steam and Humble. Obviously, PDX is a great place to shop too, but Steam is where I go most.

Got my key from GmG already. Once you complete the transaction, go to "my games" and they key will show there. Then just redeam that on Steam.
Really surprised they're letting this be posted on here. I bought my field marshal edition on steam. this game is worth a lot more than that for me, and I've saved for it.

This 25% off offer is usually valid until release. Paradox do it with GMG every time they release something major.

If you bought the directly off Steam Paradox probably got exactly the same amount of money as they do off someone buying it off Greenmangaming. Steam take something like 30% of the money you pay, so I guess GMG also take something like 30% but they sell the game at 25% off which comes out of their margin rather then Paradox's cut. They are making their money by selling the game cheaper at a lower profit margin then Steam and hopefully selling more volume.
That is speculation on my part, but if you want Paradox to get more money buy directly from Paradox not Steam or any other legitimate store that is going to a cut of the money. Everyone should avoid obvious grey market retailers like CDKeys or G2A.

If it is a retail copy, they get the least amount of your money.

Ah ok. Well that's easy done. Paradox prepare to recieve my meager payment.
I agree with you, many people don't know how to handle credit and think it's money printing, that feeds overconsumption and, eventually, bankruptcies.
That being said, if you spend now money you will soon have on something you can afford within your budget, it's just managing the cash flow. Sadly, many people don't make even a basic budget.

It is just that noone in Germany can activate those Steam keys. I bought my copy at the trusted King Penguin store for €25. You can also get EU4 2014 collection for under €20 which is over €90! on Steam. I mean that kind of price difference is not to be disregarded.
If only i knew this before my impulse buying habits got me, but on the other hand happy to support paradox by paying full price.
