Its now 10:00 AM EDT where I live and the Steam Store shows 23 Hours to release. That means Steam will release EU4 at exactly 9:00 AM EDT = 1400 UTC.

I'm going to go to the settings for the game and enter: 1280 x 1024 at 75 Hz for my 24" monitor with Windows 8. I run Civ V and all other applications at that setting and it enlarges all the fonts to my comfort level. Also, all other settings will only run at 60 Hz and that 75 Hz may promote clarity and only runs at that particular setting.

If the User Interface is workable at that setting, I'll be playing it a lot. If not, I will uninstall it and write off the cost as just one more attempt at enjoyment most of which does not work.

There are mods which increase the font size. And they're doing a good job, you should try one.

I don't see why minor issues with text is a reason to abandon a $40 purchase.
Unless you have money to throw around, that is...

My eye problem is cataracts which do NOT impair my vision other than in PDOX games. Its not worth an operation to play a GAME.

This! I had my eyes tested when I got my drivers license and it turned out that I am short-sighted without knowing it. I had got so used to it that I didn't notice. The difference is totally worth it.

As a way to 'compare' (not saying this is entirely accurate and it clearly isn't) the demo had a peak of 2,500 players and an average of about 1400.

PDS devs say they are pleased with the sales number so far but they won't reveal sales numbers.

Edit: ATM EUIV stand at 5th place in Steams list of top sellers.
