I don't mean to sounds like a Jerk... I just dropped 200 bucks on Steam for this game and all the dlc's and packs etc (wasn't on sale, don't care) and it won't launch (which i do care about).
My system is pretty much brand new with the only other game of note being Red Dead Redemption 2 - which I've played the crap out of and it hasn't crashed a single time yet.
My system more then meets the specs required.
3900x
2080ti
32 Gb of 3600 cl16 Memory
2 x 2 Tb PCI Gen 4 Drives (I do not have any slower drive ssd or otherwise) I say that cause one google search I found mentioned he couldn't get it to run on a SSD).
windows 10 (Pro)
3440 x 1440 Ultra Wide (I tried reducing resolution before hand just in case... No difference)
I've already followed all the instruction readily available regarding the Paradox launcher and it's removal, and running Steam in Administrator etc and so forth. Non of which work, and just add to this waste of time. The only thing I haven't done yet is open a ticket.
The paradox launcher itself does run, so I can manage my DLC's extra.... I even tried turning them all off. That didn't help either.
I do not have a single mod installed.. so also a non issue.
I've not been able to run this game a single time as of yet.
Clicking play from Steam does load up the launch just fine as I said, I can modify which dlc's I want active etc... However when I press play from this launcher, I get a squarish window that says Stellaris in it and my mouse is active and i can move it for 5-10 seconds... Then the mouse disappears, and I get a small blue spinning circle thing. it will stay that way forever. But if I use Alt Tab, there is a fullscreen window also called Stellaris and if I select that Then I'm at a Full screen BLANK black window with a spinning blue circle and it will stay like that forever, until I press a mouse button, then I'll get a white screen with a prompt saying yada program not responding with the option to shut it down or wait for it to respond. (waiting does nothing, cept give the same prompt as soon as I press a mouse button again.), and of course shutting down gets me back to my desktop.
I think i only have a few days to sort this out, before steam won't give me my money back... And I start work again tomorrow. So over all this is easily my worst initial experience I've had with a game in my life, and I've been playing pc games since Kings Quest 1
