Hello! :) Thank you for reading! :)

My first problem/question is with political parties and their influence upon macroeconomics, population composition, etc.

What affects upon economic matters (BESIDES the budget, which is easy to see) does a party have upon a nation? For example, playing as Russia in the WW1 scenario, I have set the Bolsheviks as the ruling party. Yet my label as "monarchy" remains!, and my economy seems to go through no major changes, whereas I would expect an emmigration or militancy from all upper class pops and a simultaneous alteration of profitability/productivity in all fields of industry due to the monopoly on trade and the planning of industry.
Are such things not modelled in Victoria, and instead a party only affects something as limited as "social services"? If this were concerning the social-democratic parties of Western Europe, such a limitation would make sense. But it would make sense to me if there were differentiation between "reformism and revolution" through parties? At LEAST is there a way to make "monarchy" change? ;)

My next problem is with conquering. I played as Britain and began to conquer Southern Africa, to attempt to recreate the nation of South Africa. Yet, as I conquered these smaller countries (Oranje, etc.), their provinces were not merely "assimilated" into my own current holdings. Instead, they turned white, and the nation of Oranje, according to my diplomatic options, continued to exist. How can I take total control over these peoples and their lands? Or is the best I can do merely to create a satellite state and conduct trade with it?

Thank you for your help! :)

From my limited experience, you have to change Political Reforms to get a change in the Form of Government. It's not very clear from the manual, but my guess is that if you make political reforms (press rights, trade unions and so on) you are eligible for an event that changes the Form of Government. Revolutions also change the FoG.

The ruling party politics affects your POPs in that IIRC their militancy and conciousness increases if it does not correspond to the political leanings of the POPs.

About the conquering... did you make a peace deal with them? Their territory isn't yours until you get it in a peace deal. If you did make a peace deal, I think you have to provide us with more info.

I maxed-out all rights and benefits as the Bolsheviks, no change within a few months.

As for the peace negotiations, yes, I brought it up, but it only gave me options like "make them pay a quarter of their income", "humiliation", "turn them into a satellite state", etc., whereas what I want to do is eliminate them from play for the remainder of the game, as one does in most other games (Medieval Total War is a good example).

from my play, I've had to peace them a lot until they only had one province left. Then I took that control again, and in that final peace it gave the annex option. I have yet to see a different way to conquere countries. Its a big pain in my ass to, when I'm trying to take over large countries likeI did with mexico and like I'm doing with russia right now, I have to have at least one army in every province to deal with the revolts until the country finally comes to me to request a peace deal, I've never been successful at initiating a peace deal for countries that I control, but don't own. I have to wait for them to do it.

I suppose, ridiculous as it sounds, what has happened is the Bolsheviks have taken control of the Duma :) The Czar remains in charge somehow, no revolution... yet.
