Hello!
Thank you for reading!
My first problem/question is with political parties and their influence upon macroeconomics, population composition, etc.
What affects upon economic matters (BESIDES the budget, which is easy to see) does a party have upon a nation? For example, playing as Russia in the WW1 scenario, I have set the Bolsheviks as the ruling party. Yet my label as "monarchy" remains!, and my economy seems to go through no major changes, whereas I would expect an emmigration or militancy from all upper class pops and a simultaneous alteration of profitability/productivity in all fields of industry due to the monopoly on trade and the planning of industry.
Are such things not modelled in Victoria, and instead a party only affects something as limited as "social services"? If this were concerning the social-democratic parties of Western Europe, such a limitation would make sense. But it would make sense to me if there were differentiation between "reformism and revolution" through parties? At LEAST is there a way to make "monarchy" change?
My next problem is with conquering. I played as Britain and began to conquer Southern Africa, to attempt to recreate the nation of South Africa. Yet, as I conquered these smaller countries (Oranje, etc.), their provinces were not merely "assimilated" into my own current holdings. Instead, they turned white, and the nation of Oranje, according to my diplomatic options, continued to exist. How can I take total control over these peoples and their lands? Or is the best I can do merely to create a satellite state and conduct trade with it?
Thank you for your help!
