2 last questions from someone about to order Viccy, please answer.

Hello people,

Im getting all warmed up and ready to order Victoria, its the first game i have ever ordered online, first game i have ever not waited an age to buy first actually so here go the questions....

1: I am going to order the game from DVD box office, It looks respectable, if anyone has any last minute complaints against them, please tell me....And how safe is it to use a Visa card over the internet? That worries me all the time.

2: It will not doubt be the 'US' version, I live in Australia, will this fact be any problem with running the game? or are the US and Aussie versions one and the same?

Just reassure you, Ive been using my credir card for yrs on the net, without any problems.

Dunno for DVD box office, Ive always ordered from EBgames, which is reliable.

Just make sure you patch it with the correct version.
Ie US version for US game.
Not sure who is the publisher for Australia if there is any.

I've use dvdboxoffice a few times for games and numerous times for dvds with no problems except the few times something's been out of stock when I've ordered it - they can take a hell of a long time to get new stock in. Apart from that, things have always been delivered fairly promptly and I've never had a mix-up with orders or anything arriving damaged.

The only other complaint I've ever heard against them was on the dvd newsgroups, where some people said they were slow giving refunds\replacements. Since I've never needed a refund I can't really comment on that.

I ordered EUII through them, so they'll always have a place in my heart

In the UK - 5 to 10 days normally.

the only thing i can sya about the credit card, is get one only for internet usage. itll make it easier for you to see if any thing fishy is going on. ive had 1 for sesveral yrs, use it only on net purchases and have had no probs....whew

i might order from amazon or eb-online. i never heard of dvd box office

isnt there a site that keeps track of consumer complaints? in the us, i think its the better busineess buerau, but im not sure

I hope that by preorder we will not have that problem . I also will preorder mine through dvd - and if we are unhappy we can all rant about it till they give us a free copy of every Paradox game to come out in the future .

Thanks to all who answered me.

I ordered Vicky a few hours ago, so my fingers are crossed.

I ummed and ahhed over ordering both EU2 and HOI online when they came out....but i always procrastinated and thought maybe i shouldn't, I am pleased if only that when i did get both of the games a few patches were waiting to be installed by the time i got them

I have this feeling that Vicky will be different though.....I guess it is the Cockiness that Johan and Patric have had about this game, i can't recall seeing the same attitudes from them in the past....its almost like they are sitting there ready to take on anyone that comes in with complaints....also a few choice comments from them about how they think this is the best game ever, and how they are playing the crap out of the game now straight after they haved worked so hard on it for months....kinda speaks for itself.

Not to mention the fact that the time frame fascinates me....

I will be on here as soon as it arrives and will happily tell all of the other DVD box office orderers how it all went. they better not be out of stock since it is pre ordered
