Is it me or does 1 metro train have 2 drivers? Seems odd to me. (Unless the driver is a spare driver or my metro doesn't have any safety systems :))

Or drivers on different shifts. There being seven days in a week IRL, and 24 hours in a day, we should feel lucky that they don't require us to hire six or seven drivers to cover all shifts...plus a certain number of backup drivers to cover sick calls, vacations, etc.

Maybe they staff the Metro Trains with a Guard as well as the Driver and will have inspectors onboard to check tickets since I know that happens in real life. The guard will operate the doors, manage the safety aspect of the train and make announcments of stations etc and then the inspector will maybe walk through the train checking tickets after each station to make sure there are no fare dodging passengers onboard.

One good thing is at least we don't have to hire staff to run the stations such as Cleaners or ticket barrier Staff. Although I have noticed on some of my maps in the past there will be the odd few passengers who will walk up onto the plateform via the ramp from the track so it's good they still have to pay and they don't get away with fare dodging.

Yup. If you have eis_ois's line statistics mod you can see how many fare dodgers are there on the network and how many get caught. (you can also calculate how much a fine is)
