As William of Normandy conquers England he becomes independent from France and shouldn't be affected by the French crownlaws. But in my game he still is and can even vote on them. I also noticed, when I was playing the duke of York, that when Norway wins the war for England I had 2 crownlaws, the Norwegian one and the English. Saving/reloading doesn't make it disappear. I tried several new games, it happens each time.

I also noticed that I'm playing update 1.08 GMGU, while the forum says it should be checksum JQDK. I don't know if it has anything to do with that. I'm on Mac and have the game on steam, I use the auto-updater.

Reason why William can vote on law changes in France is because he is the duke of Normandy. Normandy is de jure France and is effected by the crownlaws of France. It will take 100 years for Normandy to drift to de jure England.

Its totally normal to have two different crownlaws the norwegian one only effects the de jure area of Norway and english one effects only the de jure area of England.

Also as you use steam you can use the verify integrity of game cache to fix you installation to get the checksum correct. Chose library page in steam and press right mouse button over CKII. Chose properties -> local files -> verify integrity of game cache. Steam will check the files and will redownload those that are not correct. The check should take some time so if it finished in a second try again.
