I've been playing a Transylvanian Tribal -> Sardinia and Corsican Merchant Republic and lost an election. Right after which the new doge tried to take one of my castles in the capital province. I refused, and so became a revolt. My holdings were all castles in the capital, cities in the rest of my provinces, and the patrician house and trade posts. I did not own a duchy because of the two in the kingdom, one went with the Doge and the other was my Anti-Pope I was pressing the claim for at the time.
In doing so, the game forced me to convert to a feudal lord, and winning the war didn't convert me back. So that's like three days of game lost. Thanks.
I really *REALLY* want you guys to fix this shit. This is the third time I've been forced to switch to feudal from a republic after doing a challenging attempt, and thereby ruin my entire mood and anywhere from a few hours to a few days of playing.
Without a way to convert back to a republic from Feudal (like the Decision I suggested that nobody seemed to care one whit about) or simply a fixing of the bugs that seem to crop up everywhere in a Merchant Republic that ruin entire games, it makes it REALLY hard to muster the desire to actually support the game anymore. Let alone play it, let alone play ironman.
