[2.7.1 BPAH] Patrician Game Over

Routinely getting a merchant republic game over as simple patrician. Appears to be on Doge succession -- it has no relation to my own character's death, though I do suddenly become "not a patrician."

This bug makes playing a patrician completely unplayable, as nothing seems to prevent it from recurring.

Adding save game, as Doge is now very sick and the bug seems to be reproducible within a few months time in this situation.
