[2.7.0] [WHGQ] [Linux] "Esc" (Main Menu) button doest work properly

During the game, when I wanna toggle the Main Menu (where "Save", "Resign", "Options", "Quit to desktop") I usually do it by pressing Esc button on keyboard. After the patch it stopped working. The Main menu appears on quarter of second and immideatly dissappears.
So, to get a Main Menu now I must do it by mouse.

I have Ubuntu 16.04, all main dlcs, including Monks and Mystics.

This is a known issue, we'll try to get it fixed asap.
For now, you'll have to settle for the "Main Menu" button under the minimap ; sorry for the inconvenience.

For info, I am using Arch Linux on an Nvidia 560Ti and i3 window manager. I can access the menu via Escape without any issues at all, so it's not a Linux-wide problem and may be specific to Ubuntu if that is the base distribution used for development and official support.

Same issue on ubuntu 16.10.
Also, F1 through F6 buttons shows the same behavior, top left corner popups got opened for a second and got closed immediately.
The problem appeared after free patch installation, before I bought monks & mystics (i think so).

Ubuntu 16.10, for reference. I can confirm that I have this issue - but not ALL the time. I also think I've noticed something important, even if I don't know how or why it happened.

Half the time the ESC-key works as this bug-report states, the window opens up briefly only to disappear. I think the issue is that the ESC-key double clicks itself, since if you go into the Main Menu by mouse and clicks ESC to get out you're instantly flung back in. I don't know if its relevant, but it's a noticeable pattern.

A seemingly related but separate issue is the other half of the time. The ESC-key works as it should, but no other keys does seem to respond at all. W doesn't give you the politics mapmode, the Spacebar doesn't pause or unpause the game, and so on. These two issues seem to be related since they seem to be very much exclusive of one another.
