When I start up the game my checksum reads as 2.6.1 (UUYR) in both the launcher window and ingame start menu. But when I start up a campaign and then resign, the checksum listed has changed to TUYR. This happens regardless of what kind of game type and start year from what I've tried out so far.

DLC: Most DLC except Conclave and Reaper.

Mods: No mods currently used.

Reproduction Steps:
1. Start up any kind of game.
2. Resign the game.

Observe: The checksum has changed.

Why is it that they make you restart the game for multiplayer, anyway?

To reduce chance for desynchs.

Checksum is only correct right after start. If not then files might be corrupted or a mod loaded.

You should completely restart the game before starting a new campaign. Some values can be carried over from resign to a new game. If you are reloading it should not be an issue.
