Description: I was playing as Badouin of Jerusalem. Upon the successful defence of a Jihad, I made an alliance with the duke of Edessa to help him fend off the Seljuks of Rum and used the diplomatic option to "offer to join war". When I joined the war, I was notified that our alliance was broken since I refused call to arms. Presumably, he had called me in after I formed the alliance and the call to arms no longer being valid after I joined the war through "offer to join war" was interpreted as a refused call to arms.

DLC: All major + sunset invasion

Mods: none

Reproduction Ironman, unfortunately.

I have seen something like you describe recently on 2.6.1.1
the reason of breaking alliance is because there was others alliances working in a war, so I was dropped from joining the allies (when you have 2 of your allies at war... one of the 2 will break if you try to join one)

question: it breaks the "forged alliance" but not the "non-aggression pact"? (so you can reforge alliance later)

That doesn't sound like the report at all. The bug being reported is known however and it is caused because you send an offer to join a war and the AI sends a request to join the war. If you wait for the AI to respond to your offer, their request is rejected - because you can't join a war twice. The rejection then triggers alliance breaking.

What you are suggesting is that you were offered to join a war you can't join because of other alliances/wars. This shouldn't be the case and you should make a separate report about that issue as well as provide the savegame so the reason can be traced.
