As the King of Ireland and England I declared war on Scotland to push someone's claim on the duchy of Lothian and I have not been getting any warscore from battles whatsoever, despite decimating the Scottish army time after time. I can only gain warscore from occupations, which is especially annoying since I have to defeat the Scots again and again to prevent them from retaking their land, losing men I'd much rather have sieging.

This also happened when I tried to push my own (weak) claim on England, which I could only win using mercenaries, as wars drag on longer because of this issue and cause me to get significantly weakened. This in turn provokes vassal rebellion, which also last longer and since I have the Fitna Fracture mod active (this mod causes realms to split if neither side of a revolt has 50% warscore after a number of years) this issue is at the very least agitating. [/endrant]

Anyway, I don't have Conclave, so maybe that has something to do with it. I cannot say for certes if the AI suffers from the same issue as I do, but it would explain the number of Fitna Fractures that have occurred in my current save.

Wondering about the same thing too. When I was the attacker in a few wars (joined the wars of others) the warscore gained from battle from attackers was limited to 0.00%. Just recently a Muslim ruler decided to declare a Holy War for Capua, sense I control 2 of the 4 (the others are controlled separately by the former ruler of Capua's two sons. There's a nice little group of Christian's that are fighting to defend the lands against the infidels. The problem is, the warscore gain from battle from defenders is limited to 0.00% again. Very annoying, I'm in a defensive war and I have to go on the offensive or it'll never end. Even more frustrating is that after 2 major battles, the alliance has gained 17% in the warscore but because it's limited to 0.00%, the warscore is still 0.

Is this working as intended?

Does it happen in every war? Is there any third parties involved in the battles? Say vassals of your target that has troops present? If a hostile third party is the leader of the battle, no warscore will be gained for that battle.

Anyway, if you have a save game available I could test with, that would be great.

We played a MP game yesterday, as vassals of HRE controlled AI. The emperor was a jerk so we joined an AI-led overthrow faction and rebelled. We got no warscore for battles either, seems to be related to who's leading the battle - our temporary rebel liege (counts for WS) or one of us (doesn't count).

I've been in the same game as kviiri, I should note that we have even seen rebel faction winning and losing battles without getting any battle warscore, so it wasn't only our troops. However our (personally raised) troops might have been participating in those battles, not sure.

This has happened in every war - in this save, at least, and as far as I can remember. Also, the armies I am fighting are all Scottish, thus from the war leader.

The following mods are active in the save game:
And please note that Sunset Invasion is disabled and that I don't own Horse Lords and Conclave..
The save game itself: For some reason I am not allowed to upload .ck2 files??

EDIT: got a .zip instead to upload

It is not bug as I think. You see, you guys are not fighting war against HRE emperor, it is your temporal leige who is fighting war. You are all just hostile to HRE emperor, so if you win/lose battle, it is not battle of the war. But if your temporal liege wins/loses battle, it is battle of the war and warscore will be modified.

The primary participant is important to determine whether or not the battle is part of the war!

Uh, yes we are, that's exactly the point of being in a faction. It shows up as a war icon in the lower right corner. In the unlikely scenario it's working as designed, well, it's designed very poorly.

This. Very poorly designed. If I'm involved in a war and win a battle against another army that is involved in the war, then the warscore should be changed as a result. I think I can understand the reasoning behind making it the way it is, where you get no warscore unless you're fighting the main aggressor. It's very frustrating though, because, like I said in my last post, you have to go on the offensive to win a defensive war.

EDIT: So shortly after making the above post I loaded up the game to keep playing and decided I wanted the lands of Alife which is ruled by the same person that rules Capua (my next target). The enemy joined his Alife levies and his Capua levies into one unit and engaged my unit. It's just him and I in the war, I massacred them and there was a +64% increase in the warscore. Except the warscore is limited to 0.00% for attackers. Still working as intended?

Warscore is not limited for anyone. There is only one limitation: not 100% if there was not major battle and less than 3 years passed.

Actually, in 2.5 warscore from battles was capped at 75% for attackers. So maybe it's a bug where warscore gets capped at 0.00% for attackers instead of the intended 75%?

EDIT: It's also capped at 0.00% for defenders. Not only practically, the tooltip says so too

As you can see from the uploaded picture, you're wrong as Warscore from battles is limited to 0.00% for attackers, if I'm part of the attackers. If I'm on the side of the defenders it's 0.00% for defenders. The warscore is at 26% in the image, due to the occupation of Alife, with no gains from the Battle of Fondi and Itri. If those battles don't count as major battles, especially the Battle of Fondi, I don't know what does.

I know this thread kinda died long ago, but I figured I should update it anyway:

I installed some more mods and suddenly warscore for battles worked again. I don't know if it's fixed by installing any mod, though.
