EDIT: Quitting and reloading resolved the issue in this case.
Playing the Charlemagne start, as Charlemagne. My ally engages Widukind in battle (aside: with a numerically smaller army that would have been very useful in tipping the balance in my own battle against him that I somehow lost) and kills Widukind in battle.
The game then does everything its supposed to do upon winning a war against a rebel: the enemy army is deleted, and all occupied territory is restored. However, the war will not end. I have 100% warscore due to his death, though the contributing factors do not add up to 100% (0% occupation, and a small negative for the battle I lost). Since he's dead, I can't negotiate a peace with him, through any of the possible places you can negotiate peace (the battle window and any place I can interact with him.
Here's a screenshot for reference:
PS: Just a personal rant. This is my sixth playthrough as Charlemagne since Conclave. In the first five playthroughs, Charles has been killed twice and maimed twice (all four times in the very first war I fight!) and the remaining playthrough have every little thing that could go wrong do so.
This one has been going *perfectly* until this glitch. The Ummayads invade me instead of Asturias, so my alliance with both them and Lombardy allows me to crush the invaders and net a nice 1000 gold jackpot to help me create all the duchies I need to create to keep the realm manageable. Several vassals without heirs die (count of Nante, count of Limosin, and Duke of Holland), so their titles reverted directly to me. Nobody got betrothed to Anthousa, so I could be once I ditch the Lombard girl (who was kind enough not to have any children by me). Several of my more troublesome vassals died in battle against their own rebel vassals, so nobody has tried to challenge me on anything at all yet. Basically, every one of my opening moves has gone perfectly. And then the game glitches like this.
You guys hate me, don't you?
