(2.5.1) Getting Blank Events When Starting a Game

Pretty much what it says. I'm kinda at a loss here. I have all the DLC enabled and no mods. I assume it has something to do with the checksum, as when I load the game, it is APOB. The strange thing is that if I resign from a game, the checksum changes (first ZPOB, then YPOB, and so on). I tried reinstalling the game, but that did not work. I have no idea what is causing this, so any help would be appreciated.

Your checksum is completely wrong. Try verifying your files on steam, if you still have the issues you will need to reinstall the game.

Here is what you need to do. Uninstall the game. Manually delete the CK2 folder under steam/steamapps/common/. Manually delete the CK2 folder(back up save games if you want to keep them) in Documents/Paradox Interactive/. Then Reinstall the game.

If your checksum upon following those steps is still not right, then you will have an issue with a steam download server. At which point you will need to follow the above steps but download from another server.

Once you get the correct checksum check to see if you are getting the blank messages again. If everything is fine restore your savegames.

Well that seems to have fixed it. Not sure what was in those folders. Thanks a lot.
